Chandos House

About

An exclusive Grade 1 listed Georgian Townhouse venue suitable for Meetings and Conferences, Product Launches, Lectures, Training Workshops, TV and Filming, Wine Tastings, Corporate Entertainment, Seminars and Dinners.

Story

Built by the Adam family between 1769 and 1771. This impressive Central London venue is located in the heart of London's medical quarter, between Portland Place, Oxford Circus and the fashionable Marylebone Village; it is also just five minutes walk from the Oxford Circus tube station.

Restored to its original splendour yet retaining many of the renowned Adam architectural features, the House now offers five principal function rooms, each with its own unique character and ambience. All of our rooms have natural daylight and there is a charming outdoor walled Garden Terrace, which provides a tranquil haven in Central London.

Chandos House has 18 individually furnished bedrooms including two luxurious suites which allow for the potential of exclusive hire of the whole House for a special occasion such as a wedding.

An amazing glamorous location for a wedding in the heart of London! I got to photograph a wedding here earlier this summer. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It felt like having your very own mini mansion for the wedding.
Fantastic space to rent out for events. I thoroughly enjoyed my aunt and uncle's wedding anniversary that was held here. The service was excellent with the exception of the relatively long wait to leave my coat on the coat rack.
I stayed overnight for just a single night at Chandos House and found it an intriguing and interesting 'hotel'. Owned by the Royal Society of Medicine, the emphasis would appear to be business users from the medical profession. For me, I found that it's location was very handy and close to central London set a reasonable price. The room was quite large, although in need of some minor repairs to small things like the cable trunking. The shower wasn't very good, but the other facilities and breakfast were very nice. If you weren't planning on venturing out much, then there are probably better hotels with more facilities. Worked for us though and we enjoyed the stay :
Overnight stay in the Candida hotel, which whilst not being the plushest of hotels has some outstanding old Victorian rooms with many original features. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast was excellent, taken in the dining room on an old-fashioned long table. All in all a great place to stay and at a very good rate bearing in mind the location.
Very nice location. Had a work seminar in the evening, the rooms were lovely. We also received a buffet dinner which tasted amazing. The staff were friendly and helpful. Great place to hold an event.
Beautiful venue. Location good. Close to Oxford circus. Lots of good sized rooms for different events. Ceilings have been impeccably restored. Lovrly our door garden. Attended barbque. Very good catering. Helpful staff
Chandos House, despite me not actually staying there, was beautiful. The double room that I visited was spacious with high ceilings and a gorgeous bed and clean bathroom. My parents, the customers, noted that the breakfast wasn't brilliant but however overall enjoyed their stay and their room.
Overly sophisticated and upmarket, good if you're used to that or are expecting it. For someone like me just attending a brief training course, I felt very out of place. However it's in a great location, less than 10 minutes walk from Oxford Circus exit 2 and the staff were polite.
I attended a beautiful wedding at this excellent wedding venue with beautiful bright rooms for both the ceremony & wedding breakfast, outside space for when the sun shines and impeccable service from reception, to the hosts and catering team. Few venues in London come close to this level of service!
Pleasant small hotel in an excellent location. Run by The Royal Society Of Medicine charity that looks after this lovely building. Good rooms, fast WiFi, and a reasonable breakfast at a large dining room table.
