Slapdash yes, it's part of the British Railway network, what a do you expect? Drop off and pick up for London or Reading bound trains is at the front of the station. The car park is further along, don't drive into the taxi rank - they're bad tempered and there's no turning space. For South bound trains use the car park at the back, next to the Toby Carvery. The coffee shop on platforms 1&2 is quite good.

The station could do with a little cosmetic work but will have an additional platform in December 2018 which will provide additional capacity. I observed staff being very helpful to customers.

Two stars for the simple reason your station staff ALL need to go on a CUSTOMER SERVICE course!! Downright RUDE, no clear announcements, always miserable & never listen to passengers.

Very poor design. Especially considering that the station is on a roundabout, there should be more entrances. The coffee stand is brilliant though. Always served with a smile.
