Wonderful atmosphere in this pub. The dining room is on the second floor and gives you a fun experience eating in this classic British pub. We loved the food that we had as well the meat pies and chips were all full of flavor and well deserving of 5 stars. Definitely worth a visit if you’re near by!
Walked by here strolling through westminster, could see the atmosphere from outside and wasn’t disappointed! Warm and welcoming, friendly servers, didn’t grab any food but it looked good from other peoples plates. Grabbed a cider, Cornish orchards was worth the money! Crisp and delicious. Would definitely run in here again. A great spot to bring a crowd, very lively.
Great fish and chips & pies. Prices between the $18-$25. Big portions. Expect to wait a little foe the food because it is small and very popular. But great food for a pub. Well maintained and clean. We sit at the bar because the dining room was reserved. Staff friendly and fast
An incredible choice -especially for those of you who want a taste of 3 different scrumptious pies. Sophia gave us great advice and we couldn’t be more pleased. Five stars are not enough for how much we enjoyed our meal. My spouse had the special Jubilee pie and gives it high marks as well.
Very good fish and chips. The chips were crispy on the outside but fluffy on the inside. The peas which I'd never had before were lovely, great flavor and texture. The fish which was obvious the main event was crispy, moist, and flaky. Very good portion also, I couldn't finish it all. The cider I had was delicious, refreshing and not too sweet. My only complaint is if you go alone there no way to hold your table while you go up to bar and order your food and drinks. Someone tried to snag my table while I was placing my order. I reclaimed it but not without him making a hissy fit like a toddler. Spoiled an otherwise great experience.
Visited during The Queens final journey through London. What a day. Staff on site were calm and collected, even though they were herding humans left and right. We had a club sandwich which was delicious and dished as nicely as a sandwich could be. Great location, great views, great day all round. Photos taken from our position outside so looking into the road/buildings
Busy spot for British pub eats and drinks. There's the main floor, seemingly more for drinks, and a second floor for sit-down meals. Notably, we really enjoyed the Steak Ale Pie — the gravy was amazing.
The pub downstairs was fine. Busy, lively and good fun. The dining room upstairs... Awful. The picture shows the £18 turkey Christmas dinner. I've had better school meals. We ordered starters and mains but everything came at the same time. Felt like an overpriced tourist trap.
4 stars for the fish & chips ! Not the cleanest place but they cleaned it up when we dined in . Service is a tad slow due to the lack of manpower but worth the wait. Limited space to dine in as this is a pub . Cash is still accepted here. Apparently Winston Churchill used to have lunch here back in the days .
We went there with collegaues coming from different parts of the world and I think the ambience was on point to give that “british pub” experience. Vegetarian Wellington was delicious. Pickled eggs were not good as they were really hard and dry. I got sticky toffee pudding, although I generally love this dessert, this one felt really heavy, so wouldn’t recommend it. I also thought service could be better as my meal arrived much later than others, some people’s side dishes / drinks were forgotten etc. Hence 3 stars out of 5.
