Nice pub, pet friendly, very nice atmosphere and friendly staff, friendly patrons, also found vegetarian dishes had the sweet potato cauliflower curry, which was ok, unfortunately was not spicy, but very flavourful. Really good selection of wines. Nice to have a chat if you go in the afternoon , but lively atmosphere in the evening. Saturday evening there's live music and the atmosphere was very nice. Good to reserve, especially if on a busy evening, like this one.
Lovely place - cosy candlelit ambience, friendly and welcoming staff, and they serve the best pub roast I've had in ages! The food here is fantastic . Great flavours , all super freshly made and nothing too much trouble for the staff. We tried a wide range of dishes including Roast beef, fresh Cod fish and Caesar Salad with Chicken.
Won't be back. Staff trying their best but the owners behaviour was incredibly rude, just bizarre stuff. She tried to charge me additional money for an error that was between herself and another guest who was nothing to do with me. I travel for work on a weekly basis and have never experienced anything like it. Food is basic and overpriced. The area is extremely quiet and the rooms are nice and feel clean. No breakfast option and no staff in morning.
Really nice and spacy rooms, big bathroom. Fantastic location to travel London by public transport or by foot. At the weekends some pub Sounds come to the room but nothing too noisy. Very nice pub, good beer and food. Nice and helpful staff. Will be coming back
Very nice Sunday lunch. Beef was delicious, lentil roast was ok. Cauliflower cheese was tasty, so were the cauliflower wings & the pavlova was superb.
Only stayed for the one night but a great night was had. There was a private function, which created a real party atmosphere about the pub. Made some new friends and was warmly welcomed by the manager and her staff. And finished the night in a lovely room, well-appointed, large en suite and the most comfortable, cosy bed! Only down side was they don't do breakfast but hey...otherwise a good stay.
We visited on a rather grey drizzly Sunday & had a fabulously delicious roast. Would highly recommend the ox cheek starter & the beef roast was banging. The brownie pud was delightful. Will definitely be back!
My new favourite hotel. I stayed one night and if I have to stay again in the area I will definitely come back. The room was tidy and the bed was very comfortable room 5, also the staff was friendly and helpful. Also want to try the food next time. :
I am sure this pub would deserve more stars but my dinner experience was average and quite confusing. First off wea group of 4 arrived late for dinner on a Thursday night and the place was almost empty. We sat down and it began:waited quite a while to get menus and we got 1menu for 4 people from a waitress that looked tired and not bothered. But, the service picked up from there and the waiter began to smile so, yeah, it was awkward. The menu is also confusing:the mains were only 2-3:fish and chips ,burger and some vegetarian option. The rest of the menu is composed of small plates and large plates. That is strange. Why?well the small plates are quite small for the price, basically small starters and the big plates are mains without any garnish...I assume this is to squeeze the most out of the customer by using less and less ingredients. We ordered big plates because our of the 2-3 mains we didn't want any. So we got the pork ribeye and crisps, yes, it doesn't come with chips but handmade crisps the ones you buy from the supermarket but these are handmade in the kitchen. So, for 15quid you get a small portion of meat and a handful of crisps. I have to admit that the quality of the ingredients are great, the pork was lovely, probably one of the best ones I've ever had. But, it's so obvious that the menu is confusing and not that "inviting". You can't serve a fatty , juicy quality pork meat, with no garnish, only if you order sides separately, again more costly. So I am addressing the manager/owner:balance the plates, serve the customer more items on the plate, it is already quite costly, and I will return. For the quality of the ingredients it is 4.5/5, the rest is a 3 at best. I'll maybe return to see if there are improvement to the menu.
Lovely friendly pub, incredible food for very modest prices, we had such a great lunch here, nice ambiance , and the home made icre cream was off the scale goodFood: 5/5
