Lovely, wholesome vibe. Large beer garden which is great in summer. Great menu too they have a wide variety and everything i’ve had has been tasty. The Sunday roast was tasty and came out in good time. Staff were nice but they seemed stressed which made them a little disengaged. Overall great place and would recommend. Was a little pricey but it was reasonable for what was provided. Car park is small so not good for large cars. Parking: small parking lot and would be full if it was busy.
Some 50 years ago I first visited this pub. I tried to explain to Paulicarus that back in the 70's this then Marston's pub had a country vibe. It is now a J W Lees pub..why did Marston's sell this Gold Mine!. The Landlord then was Noel Burrows, a champion Crown Green bowler. To step on the hallowed grass was a sin. It is now a beer garden and kids play pen. Still a very busy pub selling pub grub. I think it lost some charm. Huge pub..has some cosy corners. No TV's..unlike last visit.
Great pub, v handy for friends and relatives of patients at The Christie Hospital. Huge, secure beer garden and outside bar. Lovely choice on the menu with options for every type of diet. My family had a lovely meal here which was a welcome bit of relaxation away from the stress of our time in The Christie. Vegetarian options: Plenty of veggie and vegan options Kid-friendliness: V child friendly. Also there is a dog friendly area inside as well as in the beer garden.
Went here for a quick grub. Food was good and they have good portions. Reasonably priced food and good quality. Nice local pub!Food: 5/5
Lovely pub. In terms of food - you get what you pay for. Pricier options are decent - such as the vegan burger. Vegan balls were not as good but still fine. Drinks are good and reasonable prices - no raspberry vodka though. Nice calm atmosphere, music is a low-medium volume, optimal for easy conversation.Food: 3/5
Really nice place to meet up with a friend from many years ago and share the time together. Plenty of meals yo choose from and the sea bass was amazing.Food: 5/5
Well overpriced for the amount and quality of food. £15 for a chicken "flatbread" wrap leaves you hungry, more like a 5 quid wrap with chips elsewhere, tarted up a bit. Dessert is mass made. Nice place and staff. Good for a drink only.Food: 2/5
Great little boozer with a lovley atmosphere and beer garden. Missing a star because the building was built hundreds of years ago when men were a foot shorter and after 4 pints I will smack my head into the low ceiling every single time without fail.Service: 4/5
This was the first time that my wife and I had been to this public house and were pleasantly surprised, so much so that we returned the following day. The staff were extremely pleasant and welcoming plus the lounges were comfortable and exceptionally clean. The lunch menu was perfectly adequate and the quality of the food was fine. In fact it was a real pleasure to ‘walk through the doors.’ Parking: A small car park but very well maintained
Ordered salt and pepper chicken fries and I am disgusted of the portion size after paying £7. Simply not good enough.Food: 1/5
