The British Raj (Raj meaning “rule” in Hindi) was the rule of Great Britain in the Indian Subcontinent between 1858 and 1947, predominantly under Queen Victoria – Empress of India. The British Raj encompassed almost all present-day India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. The Raj may have ended many years ago, but The British East India Company ensured that the best of India was introduced to the UK and love for Indian cuisine ensued!

Reading other reviews folks must have had an off night with the service. I’ve been in here 4 times over the last year. I’ve always received good service and the food is pretty decent too. I’ve not been disappointed once. Four stars as the Raj is solid performer and I’ve eaten a lot of Indian food in my time!

Nothing special here. Just ok. Small portions, high price, tight space.
