No More - My wife and I have been shopping at this store for over 40 years, we've been on their cookery courses, I would say we are pretty loyal customers. Well not anymore, we are getting on a bit now and on our last shop we picked up a pack of cashew nuts and popped them in our basket. It wasn't until we got home we realised our mistake. The pack cost over £13.00! We returned to Rainbow Wholefoods the next week and asked if we could exchange them as we would never have chosen such an expensive item, it was a genuine mistake. The counter staff were indifferent saying they 'don't do returns'. We asked to speak to the manager who was just plain rude, sarcastic and very arrogant. We left the shop with our expensive cashews, will try not to choke on them, but vowed never to return. You could say the shop has had the best out of us, we must have spent £,000's over the years. We just home people will read this and question whether they want to shop at a store that has appalling, short sited rude customer service
Had an awful experience in the shop today. My partner and I are unable to wear masks due to health conditions and disabilities some which are obviously visible. We had just stepped into the place when a customer I think it was came up to us and shouted at us about we should be wearing masks. We felt very uncomfortable and left without looking round the shop and won't be visiting again. I was quite keen to look in the shop as it was sustainable recycling shop but definitely can't recommend a future visit.
Usually I like this place, but today I felt very unwelcome by the manager, who asked me, in what I felt was a rude way, to wear a face covering. I will not be returning, solely for this reason. This manager could learn a lot from her staff who I have experienced to be welcoming and helpful.
Reviewing for my mum who had a horrible experience with a very sharp lady for leaning to try to see the price on the re-fill bottles that we're too far to see clearly. My mum said shes never been spoken to like that in a shop. She likes to support rainbow as shes been going there a long time but another customer recommend Ernie's after this happened and now so do we! Ernie's staff are all pleasant
Rainbow Wholefoods, a gem hidden in the heart of Norwich. I hope this review will not be looked at as biased in anyway as I formally worked there. I felt like I needed to leave a 5 star review as all you mostly get on reviews is people's bad experiences and that's not fair considering that a lot of the customer base are very loyal and have been going to Rainbow since it began over 40 years ago! 40 years!! They must be doing something right no? Richard the owner is such a wonderful person, and a fountain of knowledge especially when it comes to sourcing the best for his customers. If you're looking for a organic non GMO shop this is the one, plus the prices are very competitive. Cheaper than a lot of other independent businesses. I personally shop at different ones to compare. The staff, are human. They can have bad days but that's a rarity and the atmosphere in the shop is always welcoming and any member of staff will go above and beyond to help any customer to the best of their knowledge, and if not they'll ask someone who does. This year, like for everyone else has been the most difficult. However, Richard prioritises staff and customers health and takes it very seriously so due to Covid the shop is closed for customers to enter, however you can turn up and be served over the threshold. They also offer a click&collect service and delivery service depending on where you live. Everyone is trying to do their best, so please please don't forget about your local independent businesses. Norwich has so many and having them disappear would be taking part of its soul away.
I always find the staff helpful and knowledgeable, and there are so many tempting things that it is hard or impossible to find locally. The woman who served me yesterday when I bought a plant was super friendly and enthusiastic with me and the customers before me and really put a smile on my face - just wish I could remember her name.
I will definitely going back to this store. Friendly and helpful staff. Wide variety of vegan, vegetarian food, and snacks. You can always try something new that taste really good! I have a happy memories of this store.
Rainbow wholefoods is my favourite shop in Norwich. They stock some great items and I prefer to buy from the shop and support local business rather then buy online providing they have the items in stock. The staff are always very friendly and helpful.
This is my favourite shop in Norwich. The staff are very friendly and helpful and it stocks products you can’t find elsewhere.
I would expect more awareness about packaging and the use of compostable packaging. Disappointing
