Been waiting to come here for over a decade. It was better than expected. Came for two meals lunch and breakfast the next day… the menu is so inventive that we could come back tomorrow and still have so many options. Love this place.
I mean this place is hyped for a reason. It’s really good food and the service is amazing - it does feel a bit rushed though like the food comes super fast at one go and you feel like it’s eat and go type of vibe.nnLoved the lamb and little brioche bread, think that was our fav! The indo-Chinese chicken was amazing and the curries are good too.nnThe chat was way too sweet and a bit flavourless compared to all the ones we’ve had before so a bit disappointed by that.nnDefinitely recommend this place!
This place is phenomenal. I think I will go here again while in London if I get another chance.nnI got here while the shop was very full and busy and there was a one hour five minute wait for getting a table, but never the less the hosts and hostesses by the door welcomed me very warmly and treated me very nicely, even though they really did not need my one person party’s company.nnThen I managed to get a table in a magical first come first serve table that had the full menu available close to the bar.nnThis time I had the delicious mango and fennel lasi plus an amazing mango chicken salad. They were very filling for lunch.nnBy the way I overheard the menu had changed about 2 weeks ago, so if you had been here before and are wondering, you should come here again
Dishoom is a delightful gem serving up authentic Indian and Bombay cuisine that truly impresses.nnStart your meal with the Dishoom Chicken Tikka Kebab—it's incredibly soft, well-marinated, and bursting with tikka spices. This dish is an absolute must-try. Another standout is the Black Daal Kaali Daal, which the chef highly recommends. It’s thick, creamy, and pairs beautifully with their garlic naan or basmati rice.nnThe Chicken Ruby offers a unique twist on butter chicken. While it shares that subtle sweetness, it’s packed with flavor, enhanced by fresh coriander and ginger that elevate the dish to perfection.nnWhen it comes to drinks, the Mango Lassi is particularly noteworthy. It has a lovely mango flavor and the addition of fennel seeds is a nice touch, making it a standout compared to many options in London. However, when compared to lassi shops in India, it doesn’t quite measure up—though that's a tough standard to meet.nnOn the other hand, the Kaala Khatta Sharbat was a disappointment. While I understand it's tailored for the British palate, it felt a bit watered down and didn’t deliver the punch I was hoping for.nnDon’t miss out on dessert: the Chocolate Pudding served with Kashmiri chili ice cream is simply exquisite. The pudding resembles a lava cake on steroids, and the ice cream adds a perfect spicy-sweet contrast, creating a beautifully harmonious combination.nnOverall, Dishoom is a fantastic dining experience that brilliantly showcases the richness of Indian flavors. Highly recommended for anyone looking to indulge in vibrant cuisine!
First time, but not the last! The atmosphere is so warm and welcoming. We chose to sit inside versus the outside veranda. Walked in at 500 pm with no queue on a Thursday evening. When we left, it was out the door and down the street. Our waiter, Thom, attended to us very well. He made a few suggestions, which I'm very thankful for. He kept my water glass full! Once the food started coming out, we were in heaven. Okra fries to start really hit the spot. Gunpowder potatoes were so dang flavorful. Cheese Naan turned our attention to the mains. Wrapped the night up with the coconut crumble. Huge alcoholic and non-alcoholic menu! From start to finish we didn't have a single complaint. On our way out, Oliver, one of the managers, took the time to seek our our thoughts and our experience. Nothing but great things to say about Dishoom!
