I have now used R3 twice, and on both occasions they have provided a fantastic service. Keeping me up to date with the progress of my request and doing everything they can to help. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend R3 to anyone who is having any data recovery issues.
Unfortunately had a very stressful experience with this company. I contacted them following a knock to a hard drive I had been using on a shoot production which then struggled to open imagery. R3 agreed to try to extract the files to another drive. I had primarily been liaising with Andy, who at first seemed very helpful but as time went on I became growingly frustrated with the way in which he handled the case. I had been quoted for the emergency package of 72 hours of work and specified via email that if the work would exceed this or if any new costs arose that these should be ran past me before proceeding. I had asked for regular updates but each time I asked, I was promised an update later in the day and each time this did not happen - I had to instead call Andy myself to try and get an understanding of what what going on. I later came to realise that information Andy was providing me with was not clear and there was a grave error of miscommunication on his part which led the company to attempt to invoice me for almost 2 grand - double the original quote & had not notified me of this increase in cost or why this was necessary. I had given 3 priority folders for R3 to recover - one of which was very very urgent, I had specified this when dropping off the hard drive and on a later call. I called Andy 3 days after they had received the hard drive to find that the images from the urgent folder were 'ready' and I had not been notified as asked. Following this they advised they could send a private driver to my home address the following morning - by the next morning they told me they had recovered 100% of the 3 priority folders. I later came to learn this was not the case and roughly 700 of the images from the urgent folder will not open. I was offered a private driver to deliver the new hard drive to my home address. Upon enquiring the cost of this I decided to travel to Sheffield myself to collect the hard drive in person - this was a 3 hour round trip for me. Thank god I did as when I arrived and checked the hard drive on my personal mac I found that it would not read. It turned out that Andy had not informed the technicians that I was a mac owner and they had written the drive for windows use only. I then had to wait 1 hour 30 minutes for them to correct the problem - making me late for a meeting I had later than evening. I dread to think about if I had paid for a private driver for it to arrive and be formatted incorrectly. Again, upon returning home I found that a portion of the files still did not work as I had been told. I am honestly appalled at this poor level of service, for a lab to charge such a high amount and be this unorganised. It is really unfortunate as the other members of staff / technicians I spoke to where apologetic for the circumstances and did everything they could to help. It is the actions of the manager which mean I will never return here or recommend R3 to any of my colleagues or friends.
They got my NAS unit for investigation. Unit came back without screws… careless job…
Exceptional customer service. After my external HDD dropped on the floor I thought I'd lost four years of work - I contacted R3 on the evening it happened and got a response within 30 minutes. They arranged UPS collection for free for me the following day, and my hard drive was collected and arrived at their lab on the same day. With standard service it then took only a week before they had finished the recovery and got a stable hard drive back to me, with 95% of my files recovered. Now, the price I paid for this was steep, but data recovery is expensive in general and with the professionalism of the service I got with R3 I would say it is somewhat justified. They continually updated me on the process over email, and answered very quickly whenever I had a question. I don't know how you did it, but thank you so much for getting my files back to me.
The customer service I received from this company was like no other! Knowing that this company is one of the few leading data recovery companies in the world, I had the absolute confidence that I was in good hands. As you can imagine, I was absolutely devastated when I realised I literally deleted my life’s work within a few seconds. Rest assured, due to the hard work and dedication of the company owner Andy, I managed to not only get a grip on what I thought was the end of the world, but also find a resolution that ultimately resulted in the full recovery of my data. I cannot thank this company enough for all their efforts and honest approach to solving my seemingly impossible problem.
