Brilliant service great food prices good too. If you like quality over quantity then this is the place for you. Staff really nice and the young lady who waited our table was an absolute delight.
Popped into this pub for a quick drink after a lovely walk from Saddington to Gumley and back. The pub is dog friendly. You have to take your boots off which is quite right. Dogs need to enter. The welcome was very warm. The beers were very nice. Great atmosphere and lovely chats with lots of other customers. We had a really lovely time. They offer their home made pies to take away. We weren't tempted but others said how good they were. We went in January so it was very cold outside and the children's play area was empty but it had lots of different rides.
Went for a birthday lunch. The food was lovely, hot and beautifully presented. We had three courses and thought it was good value.
We stumbled across this little gem last night. The kerbside appeal was what drew us in initially. The inside did not disappoint! The food was absolutely out of this world. The BEST roast dinner I have ever eaten and my 4yr old 'fussy eater' ate every bite of his burger and chips. My husband had the stuffed chicken breast, and he too polished it off. The staff were great. Welcoming and friendly. We will definitely be back!
We hired a boat and moored up by the nearby Bridge which was about a 10 minute walk up the hill. Service was excellent. Nice selection of Gins. Wonderful view in the beer garden. The food was also excellent with generous portion sizes. Would recommend..
Great service on a busy day for them, which is good to see. I came here with a group of 14 for a Sunday Roast, which you can imagine would be tough for the waiters and kitchen staff. But they handled us well! They told us well in advance when we made our booking of the time restrictions for the table. And during our meal, they kept us informed of how long we had. I know some people could have an issue with this - but it was our fault it took so long to order, so no issues with them keeping us informed. The pub is situated in a nice village and has ample parking around the back of the pub, with nice views as well. The seating inside was a little cramped, but not bad enough to ruin the meal. The food was really nice and heard everyone on the table saying they enjoyed their starters and mains. Their roast portions are big - so be mindful of that if you decide to do a 3 course meal like we did. I also appreciated that they were acomodate a request for chocolate custard with my dessert it's been a long time since having it, and had a craving for it. They happily obliged - it's just a shame I was too stuffed to finish it. All in all, would recommend for a Sunday roast as part of a big group - and I'm sure I'll get the same welcoming experience next time I visit in a smaller group.
Lovely xmas dinner tho 1 waitress really wasnt in the xmas spirit! We collected all plates, passed to her , not a thank you! Or a smile
Lovely meals and friendly staff in a beautiful countryside setting. Decent IPA beers on tap. Many thanks!
Superb place to eat, lovely pub / restaurant, with indoor and outdoor seating options. Menu has traditional pub style food whilst catering for all / any dietary requirements. Food itself was delivered quickly, and was great quality. Finally the staff are great, catering for our two mixed families in a very friendly, welcoming manner. Highly recommend this as a place to eat or drink.
Went for the Sunday roast and completely enjoyed the meal and service from the friendly staff. Arrived for the meal at 5 and was shown straight to our reserved table. The only downside was the fact that the pub does a fantastic deal that children eat free from 4 till 7 and unfortunately not all of them, or the adults supervising, apparently knew how to behave in a public venue. Although we enjoyed our meal I would not book again after 3.
