Beautiful monument dedicated to Queen Victoria. Huge in size and nicely decorated. Located in Liverpool City Centre. Easy walking distant and a must see attraction.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
The statue is a good place to take memorable captures during your Liverpool visit. People use to sit and get together here. The monument has been built over the former site of Liverpool castle. The statue has a long presence, but with the unflattering figure of the queen. 8 min walk from queen square bus station, 7 min walk from Liverpool one bus station, 1 min walk from James Street train station. The cleanliness of the area is taken care of regularly. Now it is the time to take care of the cleanliness of the statues.
Nice thing to look at when travelling around Liverpool looking at their many statues although do be aware as it is in a city there may be a little rubbish around.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
The monument stands out from it's surroundings, it's said that's where the Liverpool castle stood, great place to meet up, plenty of stairs to sit on and gather your thoughts , seen quite a lot of tourists getting their pictures taken in the short time I was there, lots of this area was devistated during the war fortunately this is still standing,
Impressive monument on the site of the former site of Liverpool Castle. Built between 1902 and 1906. Features 26 bronze figures with those around the pedestal representing agriculture, commerce, industry and education. Those on top of the columns represent justice, wisdom, charity and peace.
Interesting monument. Trying to identify the models as one is supposed to be a relative. It's a public square outside the Law Courts. All Bar One is a nice place for a cuppa.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure
Large monument honouring Queen Victoria. A striking piece with a a set of steps leading you up to the statue. Just a shame about the dirt, grime and sheer amount of graffiti.
This large Portland stone monument is situated on the former site of Liverpool Castle at Derby Square. It features 26 bronze sculptures, each with special significance, including four to agricultural, commerce, industry and education. The Queen herself is the 4 and a half metre centrepiece to the impressive structure. The monument was unveiled in 1906 and is Grade II listed.
Here you can relax with free wifi or beautiful view.
Good place to sit and relax. Not really on the praising side of the monarch but good that city has preserved it. Would be much better if they had written some dark past along side as well.
