On a last minute decision to go to Birmingham I booked this hotel on a ridiculously cheap dinner bed and breakfast basis really not expecting too much but we had the best time. The twin room - it's a massive warren so a long walk down corridors- was shabby and really hot, the beds were very soft BUT very clean with lovely white crisp linen and towels.nThe best thing about this hotel was the fab staff - so obliging and friendly - and the amazing food. I had lamb for dinner and it was gorgeous as was the cooked to order breakfast!nThe lovely chef even took us into Birmingham to the museum in the morning instead of us getting the train - even though the station is right next door - exceptionally conveniently 10 mins to Moor Street station centre. I left the car in the freezer car park until we returned in the afternoon. A great find!
The location is convenient for a short drive to city center. Rooms are ideal for the price and cozy. Staff is the standout quality though, they were incredibly accommodating and helpful even though we had issues booking through a third party service. The employees and manager could have just as easily told us this mistake was not their problem but they went above and beyond to help us meet our short holiday needs.
Good size carpark and it's free to use.nQuick check on all information given.nRoom was up a flight of stairs, no lift available.nThe room was a good size for a single person.nThe bed was very very soft which I'm not a fan of!!nShower was goodnWifi oknFor the price I paid it definitely was not worth that amount!nLocation next to the train station and center, lots of nice walks close by.nNot sure if I would stay again unless it was cheaper! And a firmer bed too !!!
I guess it's okay if you have to stay here. Maybe I'm just not used to suburban UK hotels? The room was a closet. Once I finally found it because the signage was poor and the guy at reception threw convoluted directions at me at 11.30pm when I finally got there. The walls were so thin I had to bang on the wall to get the guy next to me to stop talking to his wife, whom I could also hear, on the phone at 1am. The breakfast guy was constantly angry. But it was what you could call, affordable!
The rooms weren't too bad for what yiu pay. We paid a high price because we came late, but the heater worked, the mattress wasn't great.
