Visited for the 1st time today, had a reunion lunch with old work colleagues from 38 years+ ago. The food was excellent, good choice of beers at the bar, attentive staff too. Was altogether rather impressed, nice setting too next to the river & not too far out of town, hope to return again. Give it a try - I doubt you'll be dissapointed.
Lovely family run hotel situated just outside Lincoln, off the beaten track but an easy 25 min walk down a metalled path takes you into Lincoln. Huge car park makes parking easy. Hotel rooms are very comfortable, well maintained and the breakfast is great. Would recommend.
Food was excellent and service was good. However, there is no lighting in the car park and there are uneven steps leading down to it. My dad stumbled on the stairs and my mum, who is in her 70s fell completely. The staff were informed of this but didn't seem concerned. This would put me off going back.
After a ‘shall we say’, rather challenging road to actually find the place to begin with, one must pause to ‘absolutely’ mention the humps in the drive up which aren’t an option-choose your vehicle wisely I will say that it is a bit of a hidden treasure said humps worthy upon entering the building we were met with a relaxed vibe, if you will~ and an air of assurance that was a pleasant surprise. The food is excellent and the servers adequately attentive. Diving in: the mash potato cooked to perfection and the Belly Pork a delight for the senses. Al dente veg on the side and a subtle apple sauce that complimented the meat sufficiently. Everything is clean and the ambience to match the standard. A quick shimmy to the river running behind, you have yourself a setting that would meet all expectation and maybe even a little beyond. Fancy lunch or a quiet table for two- I’d recommend this ‘gaff’ yep ticked all the boxes for me!
We saw the sign whilst driving by and Decided to have a look, it’s a beautiful place right by the canal, staff were spot on and the food was delicious. The only disappointment was paying £22 for a less than average bottle of house red. But I suppose that serves me right for not asking first.
An unexpected stop in Lincoln due to Car Issues bought me to this place. I didn’t expect much as it was last minute and for the price I paid £90 B&B I wasn’t holding out. However don’t judge a book by its cover. Great hospitality by the small team of staff. Food was outstanding. Steak, ale and mushroom pie with mash was one of the best meals I’ve had in a very long time. Rooms are over in a separate building called the lodge. Not particularly lodge like even though it’s set in the middle of nowhere , more travel lodge! On the outside but that’s where the comparison ends the rooms are particularly well maintained and much more appealing than your travel lodge. Clean and warm and offer a very cosy, homely feel. Good decor and facilities. Even had an Nespresso machine and pods. Comfy bed and clean towels and modern bathroom. Heating and hot water. You’d be surprised some establishments treat these as luxury’s, absolutely blown away and I was just about to pay £200 to stay at the Holiday Inn in the town centre. It is a little bit of a drive out of town. I took a taxi and I’m glad I did. Lets hope breakfast is just as good as the Pie I had for dinner. Great stay so far. This is one I will be book marking when I’m next passing through
Lovely pub grub..the Sunday roast lunch is great..only down side is that the choice is roast beef or something from the menu..would be nice to have two or three roast meats to choose from..incidentally the menu is very good too and the desserts to die for!
Went today for Sunday roast . Booked at last minute , 2 hours before , and they managed to fit us in . We had 3 Roast Beef and a Root vegetable curry . The Roasts were amazing, the beef was so tasty and cooked to perfection . It came with plenty of gravy , mash, roast potatoes, carrots and Green veg and a Yorkshire pudding . It was absolutely delicious. The root veg curry was lovely too . Staff nice and friendly , will definitely be going back . Thoroughly recommend.
Absolutely amazing food and drinks selection! Also the staff very friendly and attentive. Will be definitely going back 5*!
What a friendly place this is. Front of house efficient and very friendly. All round atmosphere great. We will be back and recommend to our friends.Service: 5/5
