Room is ok and the premier standard, tidy roomy and a desk to do a little work from, although seen better days though. The Resturant is a different, can’t seem to handle any more than 10 people at a time, you can go in at six and be told there is no availability till gone eight, service is not good. Very limited for drinks, if it’s not in a bottle or can, not available, took over thirty minutes to get served a drink and an hour for food when there was 12 people eating. Waited over twenty minutes to check in to the hotel, staff working in the restaurant. Would not want to stay at this premier inn again. Woeful experience, never again.
Day 2 of a 4 day working visit, wow cant wait for it to be over, got work in the area until mid march. I have already asked for alternative accommodation. Rooms fine, except for noisy heating which wakes you up. Service is shocking, the poor staff are running round like headless chickens, waited at the bar for 20 minutes only for the lady to then serve the 1st customer and the barrel had gone, we gave up. Went to the restaurant and the same lady welcomed us, then we sat waiting for the same lady to come eventually to ask for our orders, genuinely the staff are trying but are lacking in numbers. All the staff were plaesant and helpful but jesus, how can people expect to work like this. Our first night we waited nearly an hour for our meal, by which time i wasnt really interested, it wasn't even busy. Then breakfast this morning, not the buffet breakfast that you usually get. Sorry that this review isnt the best and i hope the staff members can find a better employer who respects them, such a shame this place is lovely if your driving past.
It's a long review so to summarise the below: rooms ok, for evening meals visit other establishments nearby unless you enjoy poor quality service and sub par food we went to The White Lion on our second nightnnWe first stayed here pre COVID, so when we decided to visit the area again, this time with family, we picked this hotel based on our previous great experience.nnHonestly, I feel we let our family down by making this choice.nnThe room itself was a basic premier inn room, beds comfy and generally clean.nnThe restaurant was a completely different matter.nnThe first evening Friday 15th November we were told we needed to book a table in the restaurant as it gets very busy, so we did. It sounds like an exaggeration but there literally were 3 other tables dining that evening. This should have meant that service was quick, efficient and generally top notch. How wrong could we have been...nnThe food was lukewarm at best and we had to on a couple of occasions ask for service at the table as we were generally left on our own. Staff seemed to disappear and were not really interested in providing quality service.nThe main course took approx 45-50 minutes to arrive, not too bad if the restaurant was full, but again only 4 tables were in attendance.nnBreakfast was good, no more. They clearly have wastage targets to adhere to as there were very limited quantities of each item at the self service station.nnThe second night of our stay we visited the White Lion around the corner - I would recommend the staff from Childer Thornton head there for a lesson in quality customer service and food quality. I cannot recommend them highly enough.nnOverall the location was exactly what we needed, however the experience left a poor taste
Worst night sleep ever.nI like premier inn as you know what to expect but this one is below par. I could hear the tv from next door all night, every person going or dragging bags past my window. Checking in took way too long and the bath had hairs in it. Rest of the room was good but a nice nights sleep it was not.
No fault with the room or the service received but the breakfast was something else......nNot a normal buffet style had to order it and when it arrived most of it was cold hash browns were barely cooked black pudding was stodgy.nI paid 22 pounds for 2 breakfasts could of got better in a local greasy spoon!
