Story

At Brewers Fayre we've thought of everything. Great value, great food, great family friendly atmosphere; we've got the lot. Our menu is packed full of family favourites all freshly prepared by our trained Chefs. The Burleydam dates back to at least 1850, & has undergone many guises over the years, including a private residence, a night club & comedy venue. Today, it is a renowned family friendly pub restaurant, specialising in great value, freshly cooked pub food & excellent service. We're close to Cheshire Oaks, Chester Zoo, & Liverpool City Centre & have a Fun Factory - perfect for keeping the little ones entertained!

Easter Sunday and it didn't shine. Booked a table for 5:30 only to find when we arrived someone had turned up, ignored the sign on the table stating that the table was reserved and plonked themselves there anyway. The table we had reserved was comfortably large enough for our party but now we were given two tables pushed together which were very small for a group of 8. Went to the bar to order to be greeted with that most welcoming of conversation openers "yeah". We ordered and it arrived. I asked one of our party to pass me the menu as my meal which was described in the menu as "with chips" turned up with new potatoes, maybe someone else's special order but not ours. There were children enjoying themselves with the disabled lift, ice dispenser, drinks machines etc. which was down to parents not the venue but still not what you would look for by choice. Would I go again? Yes but not anytime soon.

Very poor service - left standing by the sign that says "wait to be seated" whilst 4 members of staff walked past in the space of 5mins each said "oh someone will be with soon" just about to walk out when some came! - nobody at the bar serving either - dirty chairs & sticky residue on tables! Food over cooked - it wasn't even busy - so no excuse!

Online booking was great, staff onsite were friendly and helpful. But we had too wait 1hr for food. We booked for 5.30pm which is a busy time of day but surely they are prepared for this, or maybe not! There didn't appear to be enough staff and we presumed this is what caused the wait, the restaurant didn't appear to be fully booked and there wasn't a long queue to order, hence our surprise at being told there was an hour wait for food. we had children with us and it was midweek (a school night) our expectation was that the service would be quicker.

Had the new 6oz steak . Recommended rare very good value.like the new menu. Staff are brilliant. Nothing to much trouble.
