Well situated with the benefit of a restaurant. It is necessary to prebook your evening meal as soon a possible though. First come, first served to a maximum number of people. However you're walking distance from town if you prefer or have to eat out. Staff were friendly and helpful. Bed was comfortable and it was 'help yourself' to top up the in-room tea/coffee facilities. Buffet breakfast with plenty of choice to start your day! A pleasant stay.
Hotel looks a bit tired in places. Some areas need a lick of paint and the furniture could be updated other than this our stay was positive The staff were excellent, polite, efficient and seemingly happy in their work We had breakfast over a two day stay and not only was it good value for money it was very good. Happy to go again.Rooms: 4/5
Front of house, Molly, went out of her way to provide a brilliant service and I have never met a chef as cheerful and accommodating as Ray. Bed and pillows were a bit hard, the mattresses at Premier Inns have always been wonderfully comfortable to the point where we were considering buying one prior to this. On entering the restaurant on our first evening I was asked if I have any allergies, I mentioned a serious allergy to shellfish, cross contamination etc. I was assured that there was nothing on the menu that was shellfish. That was a relief, so I quickly ordered fish and chips without really the studying menu, starters etc, as we were in a hurry. I would I normally check very thoroughly. I later noticed a couple on the next table eating prawns! Fortunately I survived! The rather miserable looking front of house person who told me that the place was shellfish free was not around after the meal, so I asked someone else to inform her that prawns are shellfish!
We stayed at Premier Inn Wells for 2 nights with work having booked 3 rooms well in advance. Having had a long day, we arrived to check in to be greeted by a less than friendly face. We were told it was a ‘bad day and we will most likely be the 9th set of people to be turned away with no room’. Once we established we did indeed have rooms booked, we asked to sit down for food and were told we had to go away and come back in half an hour because they were ‘busy’ only 2 tables occupied in the restaurant. One of the 3 rooms had no towels at all, and when we requested some we were told again to wait and handed only 2 bath towelsno bath mat, hand towels or flannels. Just 2 bath towels for 2 nights for 2 people. We sat down, hungry, for food at 8:15pm in an almost empty restaurant and waited 10 minutes for our order to be taken and a further 40 minutes for starters. The food was sufficient, but again the service was less than satisfactory. We had booked in advance 4 meal deals for 2 days and having learnt from the first night we booked a table for the second. Although this was no better than the first. No ‘hello’ or ‘good evening’ on arrival just ‘any allergies’ from a grumpy monotone voice looking at the floor. Small incompetent mistakes from a member of staff left us feeling rather fed up with the service we had received. No menus given to us, no glasses with our drinks, only 1 side plate with our sharing platter and no fresh cutlery between courses. Yet unbelievably no one to help with those things when we asked. - We were told to help ourselves to glasses and when asked where they were, we got ‘in the cupboard’ and a disgruntled frown. Overall, the lack of patience and politeness from the staff made this stay uncomfortable and we shall not be returning.
We stayed here for a few days and travelled around the area. It made for a great hub. The staff were very friendly, the food in the restaurant was well prepared and fairly priced. It's only a 10 minute walk in to the centre of the city. We would stay here again.Rooms: 4/5
I stayed at the Premier Inn Wells for 5 nights in August this year, for the Lionsgate Portal. Nikola Tesla fun with 369 torsion field magic! From Saturday 6th to Thursday 11th August. And I could not be more delighted with my stay! I had asked for a quiet room, and one of the Sarah’s had given me a lovely one on the 2nd floor. It was lovely and clean. Comfy bed. The room was a bit hot, as it was during the heat wave and you couldn’t open the window. But I had taken my own, light, v thin summer duvet. And I kept the air con on throughout the night. The 1st couple of nights the air con went off halfway through. But I turned it back on. Super quiet room. ThanQ Sarah! I was overlooking the parking lot, but the thick double glazed windows kept it nice and quiet from the cars, and I barely heard other guests except screaming kinds stomping 1 night throughout my 5 nights. The brekky was ok. But I was disappointed in the pancakes. So I ended up going to Morrisons across the road, and having poached eggs on smashed avocado on toast, which I’m now addicted to! Great lighting. Bedside lights, and another on the desk area. And even a make up mirror light. Then the main one. Nice to have so much choice. Great black out blinds. V effective. Jasmine, on Reception was lovely and super helpful. As was Sarah with the short/white hair. All the staff were polite. Except one. Had the garlic prawns and cheesy mushrooms twice. And the hotel even had Doombar, my fave! All in all a perfect, lovely stay. Except the day I checked out. I had tonnes of stuff and was loading up my car on the last load. I couldn’t open the door by the stairs. There was an engineer tweaking the lift, so it was out of action. I asked for help at the desk. Hannah was on duty. I was given a look of disgust and she snarled at me; “You were SUPPOSED to be out of here TWO minutes ago!” I felt sick with shock, as all the other staff had been so nice, over the 5 nights/days and I had been so happy there. I stuttered re the lift being out of order and she reluctantly tweaked my card to allow me back through the door to get my last load. Because I was so shocked and upset, I ended up paying for an extra day on the parking app, which is annoying. But not world changing. I won’t let this one person ruin a lovely stay though. And I’ll be back when I visit Wells, Glastonbury again.
Very clean and comfortable place. Very Friendly staff Well placed to walk into Wells centre and even has parking at a small cost for guests. Would definitely stay here again.Rooms: 5/5
Efficient check in. Room was on second floor at the back, wasted several minutes wondering why the lift door didn't open when someone explained you had to have the room card scanned by the adjacent reader! Couldn't see a sign explaining this! Room on the small side, functional but rather dark furnishings. Good quality TV. Breakfast OK, well stocked buffet style, poor quality orange juice. Parking was £4 per 24 hours, payable on departure at outside machine which scanned a voucher obtained at reception. Worked well.
Good clean hotel, located on the outskirts of wells. It’s right across the road from a Morrison’s which is very handy.
Very noisy from the rooms above, hard pillows, only one bath towel and one hand towel for two for two nights, room not cleaned during stay so no refreshing of cups, coffee, etc or towels , staff were very politeRooms: 2/5
