I like Port Solent, as a nice location to drop in for a pint after work and glance enviously at the yachts. No corner shop any more, which annoys the smokers in my group when they run out cigarettes. The Mermaid closed and became a Harvester; The new Harvester offers good food, but I miss having another pub. Also, curiously, the vast majority of restaurants are Italian. I love Italian food, but recently almost every venue seems to be a restaurant.some variety would be good!

It would be advisable to phone and book a table as we found it very busy when we got there. The food was really good and tasty. The staff are very helpful and did their best to accommodate us just turning up. The reason only four stars and not five was someone forgot to bring over the chips and I had to go and ask for them. Other than that minor issue, i would have no problem recommending this little pizzeria to anyone.
