Our over night return flight landed really early and we turned up at the hotel at 0830 for our early checkin. We knew it was a risk turning up 4 hours early... but the duty manager was EXCELLENT! He saw we had a 2 year old and rallied his team to get a room ready for us as quickly as they could. 20 minutes later we were sorted!! I'm not saying this can happen all the time for everyone but it happened for us when we needed it to.... very very grateful!!
We stayed here before an early morning flight out of Gatwick. We emailed ahead and requested a room on the top floor in a quiet position away from overlooking the front entrance or nearby pub. We were really happy with the room that we were given but it was very frustrating to find that the only lift that they have was out of order which was not mentioned when checking in. This made lugging 3 heavy cases and 2 bags up 2 flights of stairs very tiring! Our room was starting to look tired as was the rest of the hotel however our room was quiet! With the prices continuing to rise maybe it’s time to start looking at alternative accommodation before flying out from Gatwick.
A very comfortable overnight stay for an early flight the next morning. We had a very nice meal in the pub/restaurant that evening. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We booked two rooms - one for us as a couple and one for our daughter. Both rooms were great.
It's an airport hotel, so my expectations are low based on previous experience. The location isn't great - busy road, not as close to the airport as I'd like. But apart from that it was a really pleasant surprise.nnThe room was clean and spacious. It didn't have air con but I hate air con so that didn't bother me. It did have a bath! Lovely and relaxing I don't have a bath at home so it was a treat. And there's a sign saying to leave recyclable stuff next to the bin, which also got my approval.nnI think it was a reasonable price. Work paid so I'm a bit vague on that point but I think it was much cheaper than anything closer to the airport.nnThe staff member who checked me in was very helpful. His name was Chris Rit I think. He advised me of the cheapest way to get to the south terminal in the morning catch a number 4, 5 or 100 from the bus stop over the road. £2 rather than the £5 shuttle bus which takes half an hour rather than 8 minutes. We'll see how that pans out tomorrow but I was grateful for the help.nnI don't have breakfast booked because it's an early start - I guess it's standard Premier Inn fare.
Great for an overnight stay especially if you have an early flight. There are buses headed to Gatwick from as early as 04.00 am. I left at 04.02 and got to Gatwick by 04.30 but there’s another bus that would take a shorter time.nnThe check-in was smooth and the staff even double checked my flight time and offered to book a taxi for me if I needed to leave before 04.00 am. When it was time to check out, the other staff on duty walked me to the bus stop. That was really sweet!nnThe room was okay - no AC and it got a bit hot but they provided a fan and a message that I could request thinner sheets if the duvet was too thick for me.nnI didn’t feel welcomed in the restaurant. I wasn’t sure whether I needed to stay seated to be served or I needed to order at the bar. After sitting for about 5 minutes with no one coming over, I left then ordered pizza. I’ve removed a star for this.
