Stayed here 11th May for one night ,A quaint hotel, smaller than what we have stayed in with premier inn before. Our room was overlooking the beer garden and road but also had trees near us as well. The room was clean and tidy and light and airy .We had a lovely evening meal in the restaurant next door the member of staff we spoke to Andrew I think his name was was polite and friendly but not overly. The restaurant was busy but you could still have a conversation ,bed was comfortable the room was warm through the night so had a window open .Woken very early to the dawn chorus but managed to go back to sleep. on the negative side the corridors and stairwells going up to our room smelt very musty like the hotel had been sitting for a while

So I went there for breakfast with my family expecting to have the modern premier inn experience. However, in the buffet breakfast if you wanted hot food you would need to ask the single waiter to cook it for you. Additionally, you sat in apart of the pub which is attached to the building. Other than that it was great and the food was good as expected. Just be aware that it is not the same as your modern premier inn experience.

Stayed here frequently while on business over the last few months. If Premier Inn invested as much effort into making this hotel an enjoyable experience as Kathy and Karen the receptionist and the cleaner, this hotel would be exceptional. Although tired and dated in appearance and the restaurant leaves much to be desired, it is preferable to the Bucklow Hill hotel in terms of quality of accommodation and quiet environment.

I stay in a lot of premier inns and I have to say this was the worst one I've stayed in. Upon arrival, no one manning reception. Check-in was needlessly convoluted. The whole place seemed to have worn, aging decor with a old people home feel and disinfectant stench. No keycard as usual, we were given a key which opened the door that felt more like a store cupboard than a hotel room door. Interior of the room was the standard premier Inn fare. The only real criticism of the room was the bathroom. While clean, noticeably dated, with ancient taps. Toilet roll holders that were filled with tracing paper and on the other side of the room. Shower head height fit for a dwarf and unadjustable. Went to the attached pub for some food, which was pretty nice. Staff were friendly but didn't really seem to know what was going on. We had to get our own food menus despite being told they would be brought out. The food we had was well made and tasty but came out a little disjointed. Breakfast however was a completely different story. We were told to sit wherever and they we could help ourselves to the buffet, but no sign of any hot food on there. We could see people eating cooked breakfast so we went on the search for a menu as the wasn't one on our table. Tried to get coffee, no cups were out. Someone with a cup announced the one urn they had on was empty. Got sorted out eventually but not a great start to the morning. Sat there for 15 minutes while the staff seemed to completely ignore our table. We managed to get their attention and place an order. I was pretty hungover so was not looking in the best of shape and had to wait 40 minutes for my food to arrive. I looked like death and was sat with my head in my hands waiting when it came, no acknowledgement of it being such a long wait. Tucked into it anyway and it was terrible. Cheap overcooked sausages, sweaty bacon. One hard poached egg, the other a reasonable one. Undercooked black pudding and a hash brown that was definitely a cheap frozen one, quite small and not fried in hot enough oil. I rarely leave breakfast behind but I just couldn't stomach more than a taste. Seen as though the clock was ticking to check out I just left it behind. While packing my bags to leave I remarked that while not being the worst hotel I've stayed in, it was unquestionably the worst Premier Inn I'd been to. I thought about mentioning this while checking out, but lo and behold of course the desk was unmanned. Brilliant work guys.
