Is this store closing down? The level of stock is so poor - empty shelves everywhere. I walked in and quickly walked out - nothing I wanted was in stock. How can you run a shop like this? I assume this is the typical management ploy to drive down footfall and justify closure. Worked for me - this is one less customer who won't be going back there!
Not sure really where Poundland fits into. I dont consider it a discount shop any as so much of it stock is over a £. The stuff that is a pound can sometimes be found in regular shops for less. You can go in a found that have either stopped selling it or its more expensive then you can get else where. Now its selling clothes, I really believe this brand has lost it way. Not sure where its going, but it seems to be going strong so good on it.

Ok to buy few things for less. Well maintained place, friendly staff. I went to buy a Jute Twine and it was only a pound and of good quality, elsewhere it was sold for around £3.
I had a whale of a time when I arrived at Poundland Mitcham twice today between 4:13-4:18pm and 4:19-4:20pm when I finally found the 5th Jennifer Aniston DVD titled Office Space 1999 when it went missing from The Jennifer Aniston Collection 2006 Box Set since yesterday.
Great store with both own and commercial brands at great prices. Bright and welcoming with a great team of helpful staff. Health and Beauty products of amazing quality and excellent value. Selection of delicious sandwiches, cooked products and snacks. Something for all ages and stages of life.
