I love the charity shop. This review is about the shop assistant working in the Mitcham shop. 2 days ago on the 22nd of May, I paid for a few items to take home with me to try them, since there's no fitting room or much space to try them in the shop. I'm 6ft tall - so it's hard to know what fits and what doesn't. The lovely shop assistant that was there on the 22nd told me you can take these items try them and if they don't fit you've got 2 weeks to return them as long the tag is still in place and you have the receipt. I tried them and unfortunately they didn't fit, so I brought them back the next day on Thursday the 23rd of May. I waited for my turn by the till and put the items on the desk saying I'd like to return them because they don't fit. The lady who was working a different shop assistant was going to process it, but when she saw it's more than 1 item she refused to take them saying - come back tomorrow when my colleague is here. I said, but why? I'm here now - I was told I have 2 weeks to return them.. She said she doesn't know how to do returns and that only a manager can do the returns because I need to sign a "special paper" and in order to give money back - she's not allowed to give money back - only the manager can. The thing is I saw her taking an items back from a customer in the past when I was in the shop, so I know she knows how to do it and is able to do it, she just didn't feel like it. She had a bad attitude. People that heard what she said to me in the shop looked shocked. I tried to ask her again - saying I'm pressed for time and can't afford to go back and forth into the shop if she could process it - she used a hand gesture like when you try to shoo away a cat or a dog that I should just leave and she wasn't making an eye contact with me. It was pretty humiliating for me in front of the people in the shop... I left - it spoiled my day :. I called Cancer Research and asked for an email address where I can leave a feedback about her. I never got her name - she's the lady with afro hair - she's the only one in the shop. It was the gestures and her attitude I found very disrespectful. Anyway, I had to come back today and the lady who was working took and refunded the items for me - no problem. I asked her if it's really true that her colleague is not allowed / not able to take returns and she said no that's not true. She should have taken them back.

This charity shop Is full of treasures you can’t find in normal stores Ladies there are really friendly and kind And prices over there…wow, everyone can afford it.
One of the better charity shops in the area. You can always find a gem in there. Really nice atmosphere and lovely staff.

Advertised to close at 17:30. Already closed at 16:50. Charity or not, it's just really unprofessional and inconvenience inducing.
