Came to this place on my birthday. Feels very much like a local, people staring when you walk in. The local beers were nice. Table was dirty and no one cleaned. Served drinks, no one was really friendly. Some notes on the table which were meant to be bar humour but actually sarcasm on the verge of being quite rude (and normally things like that do not bother me at all). Fire places were nice. Did not try the food so cannot comment. Probably would not return.

Best pub in Windermere by far. Still stands for what it is, traditional pub interesting trinkets good ale, and you won't get your pants pulled down at the bar.

Great atmosphere.  Fantastic good and superb real ale selection.  Very recommended if in the area. Just arrived back for a another visit.  Friendly staff and clean tables and floors.  Very unique place.  Such a cosy feeling.  Very quick service and foods extremely fresh and lovely.  I wait all day to eat in here.  Outside seating with a dog friendly atmosphere.  Definetly recommended and cannot wait to Co.e back.  My number one pub of choice

Always call in here when we are in Bowness. Lovely old fashioned pub with really nice home cooked food. The craft beers are always well received and we've always had friendly service.
