It was a well located hotel with kind, attentive staff but it is very old and in need of refurbishment. Room was a decent size but bed (especially pillows) were uncomfortable and furnishings very dated, bathroom very small and shower tiny inside, but the water was always hot. Breakfast was nice.

Great good value hotel with great WiFi and the best English breakfast I've had in years. Recommended but not overly flashy rooms

Nice friendly welcome, hotel really in close proximity to Buxton Opera House (reason we chose it). Rooms clean & comfy, could benefit from a refurb. Wonderful breakfast, plenty of pleasant an attentive staff around to serve us. Would stay there again.

Excellent service clean ,tidy. I slept well . Breakfast was superb. The place is a little worn. You get what you pay for in life . I believe this hotel is priced correctly.

Amazing staff, they couldn't be any better. Great price and location too. Highly recommended and will no doubt return in the future.  I've knocked one star off because the hotel could do with some modernising - don't let that out you off though.
