Charming camp site run by lovely people. You'll be made to feel welcome here. The showers are a little basic,as are the laundry facilities, but you're calming, right? The peace and quiet and beautiful location and what this site is all about.Service: 5/5
I am sure that this campsite was lovely once but I am afraid that was a good time ago. Overall it looks unkempt and unloved. The beautifully manicured lawns from the brochure are a thing of the past. They are raggedy and unkempt. The cut grass left in a heap where it was cut ready to carry in and out of your accomadation. The public amenities are sad. The dish washing area was never swept or cleaned the whole time we were there. In 5 days apart from check in we never saw anyone and never saw any cleaning of anything. The showers just as unloved as the rest of the site. We were on pitch 30. Nowhere to empty grey waste, no bin. Everything was a long walk away. Four grey bins fit to bursting and opening. Clearly emptying takes place infrequently. I think the tendancy is to put dog owners together. When one barks they all bark, it's a chain reaction. Very uneven pathways that are trip hazards. A month away and this was the worst site. Very noisy road, not the campsite fault but it should be mentioned. Traffic passes non stop at speed.
Just had a lovely relaxing 3 days stay at Polstead Country Park. The adult only site, set in lovely countryside, was a treat. The site is set out with pretty blossom trees, and bushes for privacy and is so very clean and well maintained. The Warden was very friendly, polite and professional, and the washroom toilet block, very clean and had a freshly hygienic smell which was nice. Background music was softly playing, and the use of a courtesy hairdryer was a blessing as I had forgotten mine! There is a small store/shop in the Reception area for little top up items forgotten en route. We loved hearing the little hedge sparrows, and feeding the Robin's that visited us. Also saw squirrel sitting in its tree. Lovely peaceful site, which we will certainly visit again.
We had a lovely stay here at the weekend. Anne and Colin were both so welcoming and went above and beyond - thank you both! Good sized pitches. Amazing shower and cleaning facilities.Service: 5/5
We’ve stayed at Polestead on a number of occasions and in all 4 areas they offer and we’ve only ever been super satisfied with the site, the site managers and the facilities. You will often see the toilets/showers cleaned twice a day if the site is full and the pitches are all very private with great access to water. The site is in a great location to get to Hadleigh, Lavenham, Sudbury and the surrounding areas. Highly recommend
Very friendly welcome from the warden and everything explained very clearly and guide issued. Our pitch was a good size and allowed for some privacy. Excellent facilities on the site and found it very peaceful. Would go agsin if ever in that area and recommend to others
We arrived on bicycles with very small tents, had no electric hook up & were asked for £30 per tent - Even if we shared a pitch & there was plenty of space. Same sort of price asked for a caravan or campervan. Most welcome have ever paid for a campsite & it's not like it's next to some mega tourist attraction. Also lots of road noise. Not recommended.
Beautiful site set in a well maintained area with pleny of countryside walks. Shower/toilet block very clean and great to hear the music playing Easy walk to the Brewers arms for a lunch, you can also catch the bus outside there to Hadleigh or Ipswich. On site shop in reception stocks the basics and plenty of info. on the area. Will definitily return later in the year.
A lovely , clean well kept park, great location , very clean showers and toilets , and nothing was too much trouble for Annie the manager, she was very helpful and lovely to chat to. We look forward to going backService: 5/5
