I’ve visited this brand in Paris and was thrilled to learn there was a branch in London. This is one of Europe’s oldest bakery brand, selling some of the best bread you’ll eat in London. I had half of large sourdough, sliced with some of the French butter available in the store. I also purchased a ginger cake for the festive season as an alternative to Christmas cake and Christmas pudding. A very expensive visit to the bakery but it was worth it.
A charming bakery offering delicious French baked goods and other food products with friendly service.Food: 5/5
Love their croissant from here. More on the crispy side but very buttery. Has great flavour. Definitely worth the try and tastes great!Food: 5/5
Unfortunately I can’t give them more then 5 stars… what a beautiful corner of belgravia… bread is super good, lovely people working there and such a good smell. Luckily who lives near to them Highly recommend! GO!
I came here to buy their famous sourdough breads for my brother, though I have later on found that you can get it from Waitrose as well. But I was happy that I decided to visit this small place and I got the best pain au Chocolate I've ever had. I also talked to a regular customer when I was there, according to her Poilane has the best croissants that she only eats the croissants from here. I've tried it, but I still love the freshly baked hot croissants from Pret A Manger better.
Friendly clerk with delicious food. I will buy more if my stomach and luggage have more space. I usually don’t like croissant but theirs are great.
Selling bread underweight at full price. Just not right. I went to bye my usual rye loaf but saw that they were smaller today. The assistant was very helpful and she weighed 3 loaves. All were underweight by about 100 gms. Obviously the baker would have seen they were underweight and also the staff, but they are happy to sell a product to their customer that is underweight for the full price. The assistant did offer to reduce by 10% but thats not the point. If I did not raise the issue I would have been sold an underweight product for full price. Its just not right... damn shame as it is a wonderful bread. I will miss my weekly bread but just cannot buy from someone who has no care for their customer.
One of the best croissants I've had in London which says a lot as this is very near Dominique Ansel. Very good sourdough as well and I like that you can get any portion you need from a slice to a whole loaf.
Branded as a French bakery, however they don’t do baguette, quite puzzling Only alternative they suggested was hard as a wall at 11am… Waiter was unpleasant Strongly disappointedFood: 1/5
I heard about this bakery because it was recommended by Paul Hollywood on a podcast. I should have known he was probably recommending the bread, which looks to have rave reviews, but I walked by on an afternoon when I hadn't had lunch and decided to pop in to get a snack. I assumed it would be expensive but I had no idea what the range could be – there were no prices except for very small print behind the shelves, and none of the products had any labels. There were very few pastries and they were all standard croissant, brownie, pain au chocolat so I opted for a pack of two scones for a whopping £4. The first I ate right away and found it quite dry, so decided to save the second for when I got home so I could put jam on it. When cutting it open I could see the density and colour were uneven. Super disappointing to pay so much for a below average scone, the ones I make myself are much better! Thankfully the lady who served me was extremely nice so I may be tempted to go back and try the bread at least...
