Called in for quick bite to eat me n hubby, no problem for a table. service fab very attentive excellent food, good choice beer & gins lovely & clean and very welcoming, definitely go back
An amazing place to eat the food was amazing the staff couldn’t do enough for you. We stayed on a Canal boat moored up for a few nights. We definitely be visiting again.
Just had a lovely Sunday dinner here while visiting family for the day nearby. 5 of us ate at prime lunch time. The starters were ok, everything tasted nice enough apart from the soul which was a bit lack lustre but other than that was all pretty standard. We all had some form of roast dinner for mains which was beautiful. We really liked the fact that the veggies were served in sharing dishes to the middle of the table so you served yourself as much or little as you wanted and they automatically brought an extra jug of gravy out too. The beef was so soft and tasty and very generous portions, giant crispy Yorkshires were fab and the cauli cheese was delicious. Was a really lovley meal and so reasonably priced too. We managed to squeeze in some pudding we ordered 3 to share between the 5 of us and they were good also. We had choc fudge cake which was the standard pub type choc fudge cake you expect but had an extra layer of gooey fudge in the middle and was very tasty and an Apple blackberry crumble which was also really nice. Staff were all very friendly and helpful and service in general was good with things mostly coming out in decent time. Bar service for drinks was quick and a good selection to choose from. The pub itself has a lovely welcoming atmosphere and is laid out nicely with a decent amount of parking to the side of it. Its in a lovley location and with it being November there was a beautiful massive poppy remember display just opposite. Can only give 4 stars as the starters soup in particular let it down a tiny bit and the table was very sticky and damp but only minor points that could easily be improved on and we would definitely return when we we're next in the area visiting family again.
Had our work's Christmas lunch here today, and it was lovely. Portions were huge and were a great price. The Festive Burger is one of, if not THE best burger I've ever tasted. Friendly staff and a really lovely atmosphere. Will be returning!
New menu. Very nice. Lunchtime menu 2 courses for £9.99 We had fish and chips and jam roly poly food was piping hot and was delicious.
Dropped in for nice lunch, really enjoyed our meal. Friendly helpful staff
What a find, walked through the door, welcoming greeting, 2 pints @ less than £8, decided to have something to eat, had 20oz mixed grill and yes it comes with a lamb chop, not like your Marstons rubbish, wife had chicken and leek pie, after a short wait, the food arrived, what a lovely change, food was great, hot and full of taste, and you didn't feel ripped off as you do when leaving other pubs, 10/10 will be back soon, lovely, and by the canel
4 friends out for lunch. Menu had a good choice and everyone enjoyed the food. Staff were very pleasant and service was good. However the rooms were cold because the radiators are behind cupboards that hold the cutlery and behind the seating. Not good. Lots of customers eating while still wearing their outdoor coats. Puts us off going again. Shame because it's a lovely space.
First visit since change of management and was bit disappointed. Lovely pub great location menu is very basic but also no gluten free menu or options on main menu and staff not knowledgeable about options. Didn’t feel reassured about eating so had a basic steak and baked potato. Wouldn’t return maybe better once established a bit longer but need to get allergen menu sorted as lots of people depend on them
Very nice restaurant but the menu is too basic. You need to offer something different to what every other pub does. Your food is very nice & well presented, just the same as everyone elses pub grub. With a name that stands out, you need a menu that stands out too!
