Noisy and full of arcades, slot machines and the like. Kids will probably love it! Had a walk to the end to view the old end of the original pier which is stranded out in the sea-must have been an impressive sight back in its day. Some traditional hut stalls selling craftsone which really caught my eye was selling blown glass animals which were beautiful.
Great beach and traditional pier, found parking next to the beach, mixture of shingles and sand. On one side of the pier there is walled off harbour for small boats, on my visit the water was crystal clear. Visited here at the end of May on a Sunday , come here about five times a year . As you drive down the road to the pier plenty of parking meters on the right hand side of the road . Just a bit further along you have a car park on the beach near the clock tower . This one is number plate recognition and you just put your details and pay in the way out. Plenty of lovely shops to visit on the pier in the stalls , a market stall just at the front normally sells fresh Kent strawberries or cherries on a Sunday . You have a little shop on the right that sells all the crabbing lines and bucket and spades. On the left of the pier you will find a lovely little place for ice creams and milkshakes and somewhere to sit and watch the world go by. You have a number of different stalls for food , fish and chips, Thai, burgers , wood fire oven pizza , fresh fish in a tub . Also at the end of the pier are a few fairground stalls and rides for small children. No fee to enter the pier and just a lovely atmosphere for all. Just as you exit the pier you have a few amusements for the children which is always fun and a small cafe in one of them that I have always had excellent service from and a great price for families . If you do visit you can also park down some side turnings a few roads back from the sea for free.
It was busy and fun , loads of entertainment for the whole family. Little stalls selling different things are nice and interesting. Kids and adults were catching crabs etc. It was fun
Nice typically English place with lots to offer for the kids. No charge to go on the pier.. Purchase tokens to go on the rides. Nice small shops in beach huts. You will like it
It is a nice pier with a few amusements for the little ones. You can buy tokens which are £1 each and the rides are 1 to 2 tokens each. Lots of people were catching crabs so take a bucket! We were there for around 5 hours and the parking was £10 which I think is quite expensive so I would recommend parking on the road and walking down!
Nice pebble beach that is super shallow for quite some distance when the sea goes out. Great for the kids. Nice beach front... and pier... lots of retired folks.
This was my first visit to Herne Bay and I loved it, what a gorgeous coast line and a nice relaxed vibe. We went on the pier and thought it had a lovely feel and fantastic views. There were huts that are shops and one hut sold beer. Toward the end of the pier there are small fairground rides which young children would enjoy. I can't wait to return!
Lovely walk around Herne Bay. We arrived quite late in the afternoon so was fairly quiet. Rounded off with Lovely fish and chips !!
Herne bat is great place. They have small shops and stalls on the pier. Kids play area as well you need to buy the tickets for the play area rest walk is free great place. I particularly like the small tea shop it was great.
