First visit to this great place. Martyn is a lovely chatty host. Made welcome by the locals we met in here at the FIRST EVER MICROPUB. Definitely will return when I can, great beers and great company
First class little pub, great ambiance and the beer is not just tasty but well priced, one of the nicest little pubs I have ever been to and I’ve been to a few in my lifetime
Most excellently kept cask conditioned firkins from local breweries, a real gem
Popped in for an afternoon drink and chat. First time and loved the theme. The ale was good and just at the right temperature. Enjoyed a chat with the landlord who had some great stories. The atmosphere was relaxed, friendly and interesting. Will visit again.
Love this place, great meeting new people who actually want to chat not just drink. Brilliant Landlord and God of the Micro Pub! Martyn the founder of Micro Pubs!
Small cozy single room pub which declares to be the first micropub. A real ale drinkers den where you will find it easy to meet others who enjoy talking about topical subjects and banter. Lager and meals are not sold here.
The most beloved of my travel memories occurred at this pub. I can't thank the two chaps who stood in for the ill owner that day. Such a wonderful time. I hope to be back
The original micropub. Tiny, friendly with a small selection of excellent beers. The genuine micropub experience.
The original Micropub which started a revolution. Tiny but hugely convivial inside. The pub is decorated eccentrically with all manner of things hanging from the ceiling e.g. rubber chickens... The customers were all very enthusiastic about their pub and it's easy to see why. The beer was excellent and the pub one of the cosiest in the country. Good for real ale and real cider drinkers. Bad for lager drinkers and coach parties. There's a cheap public car park behind the pub.
First time back in the Butchers Arms for years, it's still as good. A great selection of quality beers and a warm welcome. Thanks it's a great local and the beers so well kept especially the Tally Ho.
