Story

We are open every day from 12 o'clock midday and serve food until 9pm, except on a Sunday when we serve our fabulous Sunday roast until 7pm. Booking is essential for a weekend and best to reserve your table sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment! We cater for large groups, birthdays, small weddings, funerals, ramblers, and are more than happy to accommodate whatever you may need wherever possible.
We have a Gourmet Burger evening every Wednesday night, will soon be serving cheese & wine with a side order of smooth jazz every Sunday evening, and we host live bands and musicians every Saturday evening in the Jockeys Lounge from 10pm.
We pride ourselves on great, honest, locally sourced & freshly prepared food, with great, friendly, efficient service.

Fantastic find! This was recommended by friends & work colleagues. Well, we were blown away. Beautiful old building, such friendly staff, absolutely fantastic food & at a fantastic price. If you're after a gorgeous pub meal with great atmosphere & friendly hosts then this is the place for you!

Went here for the first time as reccomend. We received a very warm welcome. Promptly shown to a table and ordered drinks. Ordered starters goats cheese for me and crab and haddock fish cake for my husband. Very well presented and tasted fantastic. Both ordered fillet steaks with blue cheese sauce and swapped to sweet potato fries. It came out and looked beautiful. I ordered rare husband ordered medium steaks. We were given the wrong steaks to start but we swapped. Blue cheese was in a pot and didn't taste like cheese more line a bechemel sauce it was a weird texture we both left this. My husband's steak was more on the rare side than medium and mine was still mooing practically blue. I Had to leave my steak as it had a big strip of fat and gristle running through it that wasn't cooked enough. Waitress did ask why I left it so explained and they took it off the bill. They were really tentative. Only due to the steak issue I have given 4 stars but would definitely go back. Fantastic place great food, service and atmosphere.

Absolutely fantastic.. we have an amazing evening meal with all the family, we rang up rather late this afternoon after traveling back from Birmingham and asked if we could have Sunday lunch.. Even though they were finishing there food they made time for us all, all 10 of us!! The service is fantastic and made theh made us feel very welcome.. I had told my family before how great it was and they were very impressed with everything.. The portions were huge and we are all feeling very stuffed indeed.. You must visit, and try there delicious menu.. Thankyou so much for a wonderful evening we really appreciated it.. xx
