Pets corner has had a much needed revamp, gone are the monstrous huge dire cages, here are open housings and large airy pens. Enthusiastic and talkative staff top this popular attraction off nicely. A great part of Jesmond Dene brought into play again from days gone by, well done.
Thoroughly recommended for all ages. It's not massive, but it's free and kids love it. It's right next to a large park area which goes right down to Armstrong Bridge which has stalls on on a Sunday. To park for Pets Corner you have to drive down the side of the bridge and either park under the bridge or try and get a space in the entrance to the Dene.

Small farm with domestic pets and farm animals in the lovely back drop of Jesmond Dene. Entre is free but there is a suggested donation. Most of the animals are rescue animals with one/two on loan from other farms. Its ran by volunteers/students under a staff memember 7 days a week all year (except bank hoildays when it is closed to the public). All are friendly and willing to answer any questions about the animals. Theres a strict NO DOG rule inside pets corner and dogs should be on leads around the premises for the animals welfare. Its not very big but theres lots to see in the parks and weekends are busy. Theres a train for little children and a play area. There is also a shop and cafe on site with toilets however everything starts to close up around 4.15pm so come early so as not to be disapointed. You are NOT allowed to feed the animals at all due to a special diets and you could make the animals sick. However they do petting days the first sunday of the month feb-oct. Theres alot of parking on the bank and wheelchair access to pets corner.

Children enjoyed viewing the animals and playing in the park whilst we waited for a show to begin.

Good effort by the local authorities. The birds are the highlight of this small zoo.

family friendly place to visit but beware that your dog's are not allowed into pets corner.. it upsets the animals!
