Peterborough Museum - Bringing the heritage of the area to life

Story

The Museum is reopen after a major £3.2 million redevelopment project that has been funded by Vivacity, Peterborough City Council and the Heritage Lottery Fund. Peterborough Museum is restored, transformed and open again, so why not head down for an extraordinary day out!

General admission is free, although there are charges for certain services, activities, special events and temporary exhibitions.

A lovely little museum full of local and national history. My children love visiting regularly, particularly to see what's going on in the art gallery. It's sad to see that some things have been lost (like the toy dinosaur figures) and not replenished.

Variety of displays from fossils through to the 20th century related to the history of the Peterborough and Fenland areas. Also, sometimes features special displays and exhibitions in the Art Gallery. Nice cafe for a snack and a drink.

Always receive a warm welcome and enjoy a day at the museum. Lots to see and do, especially great for the children in school holidays.
