Just got back from having my rescue cat Charlie groomed. He is a big lad with a tonne of fur very knotted and was concerned how it would come off and how he would be after. The people here were lovely and my cat is happy and contented. Could not be happier.
THEY CUT MY DOG’S TONGUE - BEWARE OF INEXPERIENCED GROOMERS AND OVERBOOKING! My poor baby Bella 2 years old had a very traumatic experience at Pet Mania grooming salon Mill Hill Broadway in November 2023. While having the hair around her face trimmed, the groomers LOUISE and CLAUDIA cut a chunk from her tongue. The tip of her tongue was completely severed and ofcourse she was in a lot of pain. When I arrived to pick her up, LOUISE delivered the news of the accident terribly saying Bella was licking a lot and “ended up licking the scissors and it got caught”… a very insensitive approach when informing me of the situation. When they brought her out to me the poor girl was covered in blood so I immediately took her and rushed her to the emergency vet. They didn’t even bother to perform first aid or clean the wound. The vet gave her painkiller injections and blood clotting medication to stop the gushing blood specifically rheumocam injections and tranexamic acid tablets for anyone versed in pharma. We had to keep a look out for infections as it was an open wound for about a week. Tongues don’t grow back and there was nothing to stitch so it will be left crooked forever. It’s needless to say this was incredibly distressing for Bella and she was left traumatised. I trusted Bella to be in the hands of what I thought would be experienced professionals who should be able to control her movements and take extra precautions when using sharp objects near her. Unfortunately that trust has been completely broken and she was left deformed by them. Please be warned about this salon and their shameful unprofessionalism for letting Bella bleed out and not even bothering to call me / take her to the emergency vet themselves. No experience in first aid either. It’s clearly a result of poor grooming experience and overbooking chaos with no proper care and attention for the animals under their care.
Our standard poodle loves the staff here and they love him Always comes out with a great fresh look, smelling good and all with minimal fuss. Hope you can see a difference in before he goes and when he gets out. From stinky to Fresh in a visit
My cat, literally every time she attends Pet Mania for a groom comes back so relaxed, like she’s literally been to a spa. My cat has become familiar with the team, who are so loving towards her. I am truly grateful for the commendable team at Pet Mania. Perfect groom on my Persian cat, i’ve been looking for an amazing groomers for the longest time and now I’ve finally found life-long groomers. My Persian cat went in very anxious & came out so confident and relaxed thanks to their team. They are a loving team. I also noticed that all the other pets that were there alongside mine were all made to feel that at ease and loved like they were their own. It was really hard to find the perfect cat groomers and I’m so grateful I found Pet Mania who I have full trust and confidence in. Thank you wonderful team, I look forward to the next visit.
Excellent, friendly service!! They are experienced and always do a great job. They even managed to clip all of my Pug’s nails talons?! Haha which is no mean feat.
This was my first time taking my cat to the groomers thinking these people were good with cat grooming and they were close as my cat doesn’t like long journeys. The first thing they did was that they cut my cats nail so so short that probably hurt him and also my cat climbs on things and needs his nails. Now I don’t mind his nails being trimmed which I do often myself at home, but cutting them past the pink point of the nail is ridiculous. They also sent my cat home wet, cold and shivering. As soon as my cat got home he was scared and hiding for hours and wouldn’t eat. Also when asking for the price they said something else and when you’re in the store they say something else. On the phone they said to me £80 and then they charge £110 for a bad job that wasn’t even done properly at all. His chest hair was all patchy and then they call themselves professionals. I’m sorry that’s not professional at all. If you love your cat or dog don’t send them here. Even up till now my cat still hasn’t got his fun loving personality back.
I am SO happy! Please ignore all the negative reviews! If you can see the before and after. They have done an incredible job! Bella is NUTS! They told me it would be 2 hours or more but I got a call after an hour and she was done! Speedy and amazing! She smells incredible as well! I just can't thank them enough. Worth every penny!
I started taking my Labradoodle Willow to Pets Mania when another local groomer let us down with appointments, was rude and did not stop moaning. From the first time I took Willow in, Gina the Manageress was welcoming, helpful and a pleasure to deal with. She just got it, she understood how one should be treated, listened and advised how her team would groom Willow and when Willow came out she looked and smelt beautiful. Willow loves going for a groom at Pet Mania. Would definitely recommend.
I have been using Pet Mania now for almost 2 years now and have always found them super efficient, calling me the day before to remind me of my appointment and letting me know when he will be ready to collect. Lenny is always super excited to go in there, which gives me confidence that he is cared for well and looked after when he is having his monthly groom. Gina always greets me with a smile and asks all the right questions when Lenny comes in for his groom, to ensure he is cut just how I like it and I’m never disappointed.
