This was our first visit with our newly adopted dog. Everything was just right from the welcoming, friendly and kind reception staff. Dean the vet was caring knowledgeable and thorough. He explained everything simply. Molly, our dog, was totally at ease with him. We heartily recommend Pelyn Vets.
I've been meaning to write a review for a while. We have an elderly little lady who is struggling a bit with arthritis and senility. Having been on pain relief tablets, she is now also on a monthly injection as well as senility tablets. She might be knocking on but she still has lots of fun and does old lady zoomies when she can. Having said this, we realise she won't be around forever and we me in particular are struggling with this. Andy has been looking after her and us! for a year or so and has been kind, caring and gentle but also with good humour essential as far as we're concerned. He has gone out of his way to help us even calling just before going on his hols and is making sure she has the best life she can while she can. His down to earth attitude is also much appreciated - not once has he suggested we should put our little lady through anything unnecessary sadly you often hear stories of vets recommending investigations which are just not worth putting your pet through in their latter years. We hope she'll be around for a good while yet but felt compelled to acknowledge our gratitude here and now and can recommend Andy and team without hesitation. Thanks also to his colleague, Emma at Lostwithiel who helped us out during Andy's annual leave recently.
After moving here a few months ago, the transfer of records was easy. Are dogs are always thoroughly looked after by the staff/vets. Repeats are delt with swiftly. Always friendly with the owners too!
Over the years we have had our pets registered with just about every Veterinary practice in St Austell and Pelyn Vets are in a league of their own. Always friendly, polite and professional with nothing being too much trouble. As much time as is needed is taken by the team with no pressure to "get you out". I cannot recommend highly enough and the other practices in St Austell could learn some things from Pelyn Vets!
We rescued 2 cats recently and Pelyn have been amazing in helping us get them innoculated and settled in.
I was very happy I had a lovely vet he was great with me and my baby tiny x
Writing this review on behalf of my mother, who wanted to express her thanks. Our family had a lovely dog, who sadly developed an aggressive cancer. Dean was exceptional every step of the way, we couldn't have asked for better support during the loss. Thank you, Dean. You deserve all the praise you're given.
Rude staff. An appointment was booked for 3pm but traffic lights had broken down, I phoned to say we would be about 5mins late. We were bout 6mins late and waited in reception as there were people in front to then be told there was only 1 vet on is that my fault and we would have to rebook. We had stressed our cat out to be told this. Having just paid £600 for an emergency call and treatment 3 days earlier I feel this was a disgusting way to be treated. I will not be going back there again and would not recommend .
Lovely vets. Very helpful and kind. Would recommend to all. Plus my dog loves going there until he gets jabbed of course lol. I also want to say one thing about the people who give a poor review on how much you are charged for appointments. Are you all stupid!? How do you think the vets and staff are paid?? If you all had free check ups and appointments they wouldn’t earn any money! There is also overheads, medication, maintenance of equipment to pay and I expect other things too. At the end of the day yes they treat and look after animals but the vets are also a business and needs to make profit to be able to succeed. Just think before you make your stupidity reviews.
Excellent help and explanation given. The vet was super friendly and super understanding regarding my pet's ongoing problem.
