Sadly a very gloomy and quite depressing pub. Half the bulbs are out and the others very dim, and it's really not warm enough inside when you are sitting. If the landlord is worried about lighting costs why not change to LED which are much brighter at a fraction of the cost? It would be a much more appealing place with proper lighting. Lovely food and excellent prices but as it is at present I wouldn't choose to become a regular visitor. I'd have rated it 2.5 stars if I could but settled on 3 stars because I didn't want to go as low as 2, particularly as the staff and food are great.

Lovely local pub. Good food and great prices
Family run pub with amazing food and a fantastic selection of drinks. If you're looking for a good night out with welcoming staff and locals or a really nice meal, I honestly can't recommend this place enough. The food is all cooked in house and sourced locally, you can really tell a lot of passion goes into the kitchen here.
Great hosts in Pauline and Les, always a warm welcome and great selection of beers to choose from. Good friendly crowd to mix with. Quiz nights music nights and quiet drinking nights all available. In a few words something for everybody. Go on in there and enjoy a great night out
Ashamed to say not been for a few years, made to feel very welcome and served great food at a good price, such a friendly atmosphere here so highly recommended.
Booked a table for Saturday lunch for 1pm. The pub was advertised to be open by 12 Noon. Arrived at 12.50 and the pub was still shut. When we finally managed to gain access staff there was staff still vacuuming. As the pub had opened late all the locals had converged at once. I appreciate that it was busy and people needed to be attended to but there was no acknowledgment or apology from the bar staff or anything to make you feel like a valued customer. Despite the fact we had booked and were expecting food, we were totally ignored by the bar staff and ended up walking out. Terrible customer service would not recommend.
2 years on still waiting for refund for missing food and worst food I've ever had the misfortune to eat. 1 star because I can't go any less.
Lovely home cooked food and great menu!! Ate here with my whole extended family and enjoyed great service, my favourite was the traditional Rag pudding, I'll definitely come back for another!!
