If you want a lovely steak meal in a lovely country place you should go here at least once. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Food is awesome. We attempted the 3 course Sunday Lunch for £15 but only just about managed 2 courses. The portion sizes are bigger than average. It's such a wonderful place with a fabulous atmosphere
Fantastic Sunday dinner. Phoned at last minute for a table and they fitted us in. Amazing food Staff & service great. Prices very good. Highly recommend.
This place is amazing. Took family who I raved about this place to. Equally as pleased. Easily a 10/10, even with the difficulty parking. The atmosphere is very cosy even when it is bustling and all the staff genuinely seem happy to be there. Kid-friendliness: Was very good with my child
We had a lovely meal tonight. The food is outstanding. Every time we go we are never disappointed. The starters are amazing and I haven’t tried all of them yet!! The fillet steak is cooked to perfection medium rare. The home made chips are to die for. The salmon fillet with the spicy rub and salad was beautiful and fell apart just using my fork. We also had my favourite dessert to take away dark chocolate orange cake with orange syrup this is delicious. I would definitely recommend going here the staff are very friendly and attentive towards you and your party of family and friends. Kid-friendliness: Children are welcome up to 8pm and they have a child’s menu. Although my 11yr old only ever has the steak when we go!
If you want authentic locally sourced 'pub grub' then this definitely is the place to go. The place is up in the hills and on entry you'll notice the old fashioned, authentic surroundings. It's very warm, lit by a woodburning fire has great beer, friendly service and delicious food. We'll be back thats for sure. Ps here's a tip.. Parking is a nightmare!! The car park is very small and surroundings are quite restricted due to residential housing and hills, expect your car to get dirty and don't drive up your brand new whip
Absolutely beautiful little traditional 1700's pub with some wonderful ghost stories, surrounded by beautiful views over country side and hills and lovely walks through the local history. The food was outstanding from the fresh made soup and salads were fresh and delicious, and the mains were flavoursome and filling not to mention how reasonably priced it all is for such amazing quality. The staff were fantastic friendly and helpful over the phone and in person. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Will definitely be back again soon.
Absolutely lovely food. All three courses were superb. There were lots of beer choices, and I had Guinness. Steak was perfect, 4 for service only because we waited for the dessert course. Busy but numerous waiting staff so maybe the kitchen needs a hand. It's a cracking venue for good food, and I'll be back.Food: 5/5
Lovely cosy pub feel with great drinks selection, amazing food and wonderful staff 10/10
The place to visit if you like a proper ‘steak’ from a local butcher. Had the sirloin, medium rare and it was great! Good size, full of flavour and succulent. For a starter, had the best pea and ham soup - nice and thick, pieces of ham and well seasoned. Value for money if you appreciate quality ingredients - will return.
Lovely place, fantastic food and staff are very pleasant too.Food: 5/5
