Great atmosphere and staff. I started early and stayed on as they started their dinner service which I think is new. A nice little place to spend some time if waiting for a train or just grabbing a drink before a movie.
Great ambience, friendly staff, good coffee and the bestest bacon sarnie ever. Needs to be tried.
Don't really understand a lot of the negative reviews for this cafe. I have been there a couple of times now, and have to say they probably do one of the better coffees in Peckham from what I've tried, second to only Old Spike. Staff are always friendly, and had an affordable breakfast with simple flavors done well. Interested to try the dinner menu.
Friendly service, good quality coffee and food!
Interesting dishes, good atmosphere, immaculate but informal service. The food ranges from consistently good to excellent, with plenty of subtle and justified twists. An appealing menu makes you want to try everything! Careful with some of the wines which can be variable, and the Americanos aren't great, but the totality of these minor points do not detract from what is a really good place.
I went there for a quick lunch with my girlfriend at 1.30 pm on a Tuesday afternoon. Since the place was basically empty we were expexpecting a decent service and an enjoyable experience. Far from reality. The waitress seemed not to be really bother to provide any type of service at all. Or even work, she probably was too busy checking her phone. We ordered a ham and beef broth and a sandwich with a couple of glasses of wine after a 10 minutes wait looking at the nice interior one the few positive things. The wine was delivered with rudeness, the glasses put on the table with no attention I went for eye contact to thank the waitress and she was already looking somewhere else. The sandwich was good, the broth came with no ham so we asked if that was the spec of the dish and apparently was not. So we sent the dish back to the kitchen and ham was tossed in the bowl with the stock. At least we befriended a fly that wanted to have lunch with us. Long story short: bad service, very low attention to detail, low level of cleaningness. Which is an absolute shame since the place could rock hard. Food is good and price too. But hospitality is about experience and feelings and our experience was absolutely not pleasant. I work in hospitality and this kind of service is not tolerable. Please improve so people can enjoy having lunch there.
The attitude of the staff... Really? You are so rude, so arrogantly rude I'm afraid. As to the food - very good quality ingredients let down in part by truly the most uncomfortable stools i have ever sat on. Good coffee. Serving staff felt inexperienced in customer service, if not haughty, they'd be in a slightly clueless daze of youth. Wouldn't take much to improve these service and environmental factors to justify the relatively high menu prices, but I don't sense that the incentive is there...
Their Lamb roast with Ratatouille is amazing. Have had it several time and every time it taste amazing. Steaks are good as well. Highly recommend their brunch on Saturday and Sunday. If you are looking for a romantic place for you and you loved one, this is the place to visit.
Great drinks. Paloma was excellent. Service was a bit slow at 8:30pm on account of a single bartender. Outside seating along sidewalk and open window kitchen. Would return at less busy time.
When they get it right its one of the best places. The trout we had was one of the best things i have had in a while. However seriously undercooked lamb neck and artichokes with too much stringy leaves. Someone is very talented but needs a bit more attention to detail.
