As a Thornaby lad, I do miss the Spitfire. I met my wife there in the 80’s. Paul’s on the other hand is a great Chippy. It’s always clean, decent parking and staff are canny. The Parmos are huge, fish a decent size and chips are huge portion. Telephone ordering doesn’t really save any time, you still queue to get your order, and it’s never been ready to collect. We’ve even had to wait while the cook some fish. The chips can be a little under cooked, but there’s masses of them. Price rises are common everywhere, Paul’s is no exception. Definitely the best Chippy around this area. Probably have to go to Saltburn for a better one.

Absolutely great, I love this place as it is just round the corner from where I live it’s cheap, amazing food, easy and definitely enjoyable, I rate it and suggest you should go if you want a good fish and chips on a Friday night
Normally very good,but it was totally unorganised tonight. I had an order for 6.30 but it wasn't prepared until after 7. If you ordered ahead, you had to join a queue and people who ordered after you where getting there order before you. And the prices have increased dramatically. Almost £10 fir fish and chips for a take out.

Portions are shrinking and prices are rising. Used to be a regular, but it'd be cheaper getting something more exciting than fish and chips! £2 on a cod in a week! No thanks
Amazing food, in fact I'd probably say the best chippy in teesside! Good service and able to order ahead Parking: Free parking directly in front of business, disabled parking spaces clearly marked.
Lovely food price went through the roof fish up two quid from last week sorry pound ye 40% chips up 40p shame won't be able to afford it now
We've had parmos, fish and chips and Pizzas from here regularly. There is none of the cross-over issues you sometimes get with places like this. The Pizza tastes like it's from a pizza shop the Fish tastes like it's from a fish shop! Exactly what you want. All the servings are very generous. Minimum wait and great value. The place is always well staffed and spotlessly clean.
