The roundel pub near the cemetery in Thornaby. Has a good price list for food & drinks. It cost me £6,40 for a coffee & a Guinness. I recommend the roundel to anyone who wants a good night out.
We came in around 2:30-3:30 on 4/9/22 and wow what fantastic service! The waitress serving tables has phenomenal customer services skills and made us feel very welcome and cared for. The food was cooked to perfection. Definitely one of the top greene king branches we've been to 10/10 would visit again!

Probably deserves 3.5 stars. Pub is one of the better ones in Thornaby. Covid rules are being followed, we were asked to download the track and trace app before entering. We ordered the drinks and lunch through the Greene King app. The drinks took around 10 mins to arrive and the food followed about 10-15 mins after that. Food was ok, the sweetcorn was very juicy. Everything was cooked well, the meal would have benefited if the chips were home made. Staff were courteous but going through the motions with the exception of the guy who was in the door welcoming and seating people. He had a personality about him. The staff did come round twice enquiring if the food was ok, which it was. All in all the pub is quite nice. It was lovely to sit outside in the sun, the tables and parasols looked quite new and it felt like there was plenty of space around us. The bill for two drinks and two meals was just under £25.
Had a great family meal there. Ease of walking in & grabbing a table at the time of our visit 1800hrs. Order at the bar for food / drink. Great food, Definitely well worth a visit again.

Went to the roundel this afternoon and found the atmosphere.perfect just light music. Had the new wi xmas burger absolutely amazing! Service was excellent too!
Great food at great prices. Nice selection and drinks available. Friendly staff making the place feel like a family home. Can get busy and noisy at weekends. Big screen TV for sports in the bar area plus a pool table. Nice family seating areas in the lounge with TVs also. Tables can be reserved in advance. The chef certainly knows how I like my steak.
Nice place and atmosphere. Relatively busy when we visited but managed to find a table ok. Plenty of staff working so only a short wait at the bar. Good selection of drinks. Good menu with plenty of choice. Challenge burger and ribs ordered with 25% off on a Friday. Burger was nice, ribs were ok more of a quantity than quality. Overall a decent visit.
I call in occasionally and am always happy with the staff and service provided. Polite, chatty and very welcoming August 9th I was witness to a belligerent, screaming - probably drunk lady who was verbally abusive to a young member of staff called Luke. I am happy to say that the young gentleman was completely calm and kindly asked the woman to lower her voice, which she did not - completely out of control after trying to push in. He remained calm despite this, served me, and then served the abusive lady. Again polite and calm. People are quick to complain on these platforms and I believe that credit is due where it’s due so wanted to mention how impressed I was given the young lad has a right to work in a safe environment and not be screamed at. I’d have barred her and said out, however, the staff here are professional and kept their cool. Recommend a visit, well done to young Luke.
