I had a telephone appointment booked 24/04 to discuss ultrasound results. When I received the call I was informed that the doctor I was speaking to only has training with muscoskeletal ultrasounds therefore could not discuss my results with me.nHe said someone would be in touch to rearrange, no one called so I contact the surgery later in the afternoon myself.nI explained the situation to the receptionist and she could only offer me another telephone appointment one week later.nNow I feel as though I have to be uncomfortable for even longer due to an error made by the surgery, I feel that not enough has been done and I should have been called back today still 24/04. I have been in pain with a particular issue for almost 8 weeks, and this phone call was important to me so that I could figure out if something is wrong and to then see what I can do to help myself and the pains. I appreciate that accidents happen but it’s the aftercare that’s important. And making someone wait another week when they are already in pain is unacceptable and I feel very let down
My partner had a mental health crisis and finally got up the courage, which took a lot, to ask for help with his depression and anxiety. He came home in a much worse state after having a complete breakdown caused by the insensitivity, uncaring manner and plain ignorance of Dr Hutton - explained as “I don’t specialise in this area”. Men are actively encouraged to talk about their mental health and my partner now is back to square one, major anxiety, despair & depression & feeling like no one’s willing to help & there’s no where to turn. I’m devastated by a doctor treating my partner like a silly, unimportant, inconvenience
Very poor reception staff. Do not pass urgent referrals on to doctors or external medical facilities.nnDoctors also often make mistakes on prescriptions by not providing them to pharmacy or just getting them completely wrong.
I visited the practice today. Not impressed with the service on reception. The lady was straight faced no smile. Maybe shes complacent, which is an insecure thing to be in your workplace these days!
As I required a sick note extension following surgery I contacted the practice at 8:47 am and was informed by the receptionist that they would get back to me. I waited until 2:15 pm at which point I decided to call them back. The receptionist didn’t understand that as I had a sick note that ran out today for 2 weeks from and including 16/09/25 that I would require another today and insisted that it needed renewing tomorrow, I was was a little surprised and doubted myself so hung up. When I spoke with my wife she couldn’t believe what they had said so went up to the practice and had to explain that as my sick note was from the 16/09/25, that was my 1st day off and that it needed renewing today not tomorrow. It took a little explaining but eventually they agreed and said it would be ready later. However, upon ringing later to check it was ready as they had not let us know via text as promised I was then told it wouldn’t be ready today and maybe not even tomorrow!!!nnConsidering we contacted the practice 1 week ago to check when we needed to contact them in order to get an extension to my sick note and was informed to contact them when it ran out, I feel that the amount of misinformation from reception in this case beggars belief and in this case 1star is generous. It’s a shame because I have never felt the need to write a review before, but my sick note could be up to 2 days overdue now and I’m just lucky that my employer knew of my going off beforehand!
