John aka George and the gang are awesome, very welcoming, the way the Papillon has improved over the last year is very impressive, a large variety of top labelled spirits,beers and wines. Some great bands play here now as well which is a bonus. Can't wait for Spring/Summer so me and the missus can sit on the terrace soaking up the sun and people watch with a nice cold drink.

Always such friendly welcoming staff and owner x even when busy they make you feel so welcome..lovely to be able to take your dog in ..great choir the other night.but the bands are also so good..clean , great atmosphere good and cheap drinks! Thanks.see u again soon x
Absolutely fab place. Right on the seafront and the most friendly staff. Great live music at weekends and the fab offer of 4 shots for £10
Visited with Hubby Robin several times over the weekend 11-13th Feb 2023. Only wish we had found it sooner. Friendly staff - best San Miguel we had for a while - we will certainly be back if we are in Southend again.
Great seafront pub, always a good service, staff n management great. Good selection of drinks. Great for live music.
Love the papillon, fantastic live bands weekend evenings, karaoke weekend day time, but for us this pub is about the staff. What a great family team, lead by George and Lisa, with excellent support from ollie, Justin and James, don't think I have left anyone out. Many thanks to all of you for making our visits memorable and happy. Maybe I have missed someone, and she shouldn't be left out, big shout out to Beth x. A must visit venue for rock fans, and people who like people.

Love this place! Great music, great staff, who look after you, dog/child friendly...safe as houses!!
Great pub, with a great atmosphere and a good selection of drinks. Loved it on a sunny day when the football is on.
