First time at Il Mondo for my daughter in laws birthday after being recommended by a family member. I can honestly say this is the best Italian restaurant I’ve been to. The food was fantastic I had the Rack of lamb and it was cooked to perfection. There was eight in the party we all had starters main and afters. No one in the group had a bad word to say about food service or staff. The staff are a credit to the owners. It was a fantastic evening and we are planning another visit. The food was very reasonable priced and all food looked excellent. This is an ideal venue for large group before or after a show or even a evening meal for two. Tables was very well spaced out for privacy. All in all a little gem of a venue. We will definitely be back.
Amazing food! Excellent service! Big portions and authentic Italian food. The best Italian restaurant I have been so far in England. Definitely recommend it.
Had a really lovely dinner with the family at this fine Italian restaurant. The portions were generous and the pricing was very reasonable! The kids had a 12 inch pizza and serving of spaghetti bolognese and the servings were really large enough to feed most adults! We went for a beautifully cooked lobster ravioli to start, followed by a mixed seafood grill for 2, which was simply spectacular! Half a lobster, 2 pieces of squid, 2 fillets of salmon, 2 fillets of sea bass, 3 langoustines, 4 king prawns, and clams and mussels. I would love to come back again.
Very enthusiastic waiters and waitresses. Fantastic food with good quality and price. Would highly recommend
This is one of, if not, the best restaurant I've been to in Southend. This Italian restaurant really makes you feel like your at home, wit the good food that's also classy, the ingredients fresh and this makes every flavour in the food really pack a punch. The pizza I had there was amazing. You got the classic Italian style of amazing crust and full of toppings, with the extra touch of the parmesan shavings to give it that sharp, and tangy touch. I also had the cheesy garlic bread, which was good, with lots of cheese and a strong garlic flavour running throughout. Finally I had the "Gnocchi Nutella" which was small doughballs that was stuffed with the Nutella, I would come back to the restaurant just for these. We also had steak, which looked amazing and cooked to perfection, tiramisu also amazing and finally another starter which was incredible. The atmosphere was incredible, with the owner coming around and singing songs and cracking jokes really brightened up everyone's day, the waiters/waitresses were all really nice as well, with quick service and great small talk, making you feel welcome. I would 100% recommend this restaurant for anyone who's looking for a good Italian restaurant to go to in Southend. Pics attached
Good food and good ambience. Exemplary customer service. Please do try their lasagne it’s one of the best lasagne I have ever tasted.
Not a great place to eat as several other much better Italian restaurants nearby. Pasta dishes tonight for my 2 courses were tasteless and without flavour, My husbands Salmon was overcooked, dry and overseasoned with soggy veg. Venue was noisy so not easy to talk without shouting Was surprised that waiters made no comment when clearing plates of uneaten food. Not really bothered I guess which is a shame
We had a fantastic time - the whole experience was perfect. A warm welcome, attentive service, delicious food, great prices - and a special mention for everyone working there as they were so friendly and great fun too - we had a good laugh with them!
We had a party of 20 people to celebrate my son's 18th birthday. The service was great, the staff were very friendly and the food was really nice. I would highly recommend.
