Awesome staff, so brilliantly they put together a last minute birthday celeb. That meant a lot! Also it has a lovely local crowd, awesome shepherd's pie, and karaoke Saturday nights. Makes me second guess overrated London pubs...Service: 5/5
Called in after a day of eating seaside 'rubbish' and what a find this place was. Plenty on the menu that wasn't just 'something and chips' and all at prices us northerners were very happy with. The veg was all fresh and cooked just perfect, not over cooked, the pies and shepherd's pie were wholesome and plentiful. The chilli dish had plenty of flavour, something often lacking in attempts to please all. Shame our holiday end tomorrow as we would be back. Staff were efficient and friendly, food stops at 8pm so you've got to be on the ball but as it was Saturday night the pub was full and a live group came on so can see why food finishes. Great atmosphere and value
Went here for Mother's Day lunch, parked car, and walked to front of pub to wait for a couple of friends. As we got to the front entrance, two of our other friends pulled up and spoke to them briefly until the couple we were waiting for turned up. They parked their car, and we walked in but looked a bit busy, so we four decided to go elsewhere while our other two friends decided to have a couple of drinks. We then drove to another pub. We then got a fine from the company running pub car park for £60 for the 12 minutes we were there. My partner politely emailed what had happened, and they informed us that we still had to pay the fine..............yeah right, I'm sure I'm gonna pay £5 a minute !
Didn't stay in the rooms. Staff very friendly and helpful, food was really good, and I would go back for that. Bar isn't set up for newbies / solo travelers, if you come alone you will leave alone.. On the seafront but a good old walk away from the main strip. That's why I docked a star. Not their fault but it's asking me to grade location.
wonderful pub been greated by the barman called Malaki i hope got the spelling right very good and polite young man explained how the carvery worked as was fully booked he offered a table downstairs and arrange everything from food choice and drinks and the delivery from upstairs to downstairs via lift food exellent so drinks and service exellent...please manager notice the effort of this young man a def asset to the company..thank you again will see you soon
Spent a night here in October 2022. Paid 65 quid for a en-suite room with views over the Estuary. The room was a bit 1980's style and small bathroom but i was okay with that. Great views. Had a few pints in the authentic locals bar. Didn't try the food. Free pool 2 x tables on Mondays. I would stay again.
Went with friends for Sunday lunch , food was lovely ,could not fault anything ,staff friendly and very helpful ,first time I had been for a meal at the Castle ,thoroughly enjoy it .will be going again ,Service: 5/5
Park in the car park and assume as a paying customer you would be eligible to park. Then receive a £100 fine. Wonderful
