I had my engagement ring made by Phil a few years back, its a lovely ring and I've had plenty of lovely comments from family and friends on how well made and different it is compared to other engagements ring out there. Phil has now made my wedding ring to match my engagement ring and what a fabulous job he has done!. Phil is a very talented person and I would recommend any body thinking of having any pieces of Jewellery hand made to go to him.

I recently commissioned PMH Jewellery to make a bespoke ring for my wife to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary. The process of dealing with Philip was a brilliant experience. He listened carefully to what I had in mind, then within a few days he had come back with some sketches and designs for me to consider. We chatted about the ideas he had and we agreed on a design which was a combination of a couple of the ideas he had put forward. Within a couple of weeks Phil sent me photos of the ring in the manufacturing process. This gave me the confidence to know that the job was being done with care and skill. The finished ring was a joy to see, far exceeding my expectations, a truly original, one-off ring. The ring was a combination of Gold, Silver and Platinum with a wonderful clean stone taking centre stage. I gave it to my wife whilst away in Spain and she was overjoyed! She has hardly taken it off since. Thanks Phil for a great piece of work, carefully and skilfully carried out. I will be back when the next celebration comes around.

Newly engaged I met with the owner of this shop via a wedding fair. I showed them an image of what my dream engagement ring would look like and they said they could re-create this within my budget. I was over the moon. Initially the contact was pleasant and i was very excited to see the designed ring. I paid cash upfront to get a 'better deal' (something i now regret). The ring took around 6 weeks to make and when i went to pick it up i was shocked! it was awful - not even the right amount of diamonds in the halo surrounding the main diamond - this made the ring look crooked, it had noticeable scratches and a chunk missing out of the band. The prongs were misshapen and it was generally of very poor quality. If only i could upload pictures! I was left devastated and upset in tears in their shop. I asked for a refund but the owner would not allow it - he wanted a chance to put it right. I sought legal advice as I just wanted my money back and to start again but my only option by law was to allow him to do this, even after sending a heartfelt personal letter asking him to consider my feelings and reimburse me and let me start what is meant to be a very happy experience again elsewhere, but still he only wanted the chance to correct. After months of waiting i got the call to return to pick up my new ring. I felt so nervous. It was much better - only because the shop owner had decided to send the job off to a third party and he had the ring CAD made by another company in Birmingham, probably as he was unable to make the ring himself as promised. It was lovely, however it was a size and a half too small and had to be sent back to the manufacturers for resizing. It came back 2 weeks later and it was still a size too small, so the assistant took it upstairs to the shop owner where he ended up resizing it himself. The whole process from paying a deposit to receiving a finished engagement ring was over 6 months! Inbetween all this i had to fight tooth and nail for a diamond certificate as one was not issued with the ring. About 8 weeks after having the ring I noticed the centre diamond had become loose and wobbled in the setting - back to the shop i went again where the owner tightened it up. a week or so later it was loose AGAIN. I went back again where it was tightened once more and told if it happens again the assistant told me they would get in touch with the manufacturer to ask their advice. It has now been about 9 months and the diamond is once again loose. I have had so much trouble with this ring from start to finish and it has caused me and my partner a lot of upset and grief. I have been told by another jeweller that this specific design of ring should never have been set in Palladium, that the metal is too soft to hold diamonds - this has been proved correct by the fact the stone has come loose 3 times and i can see the setting is already slightly bent too (its not even a year old yet). I have had such an awful experience that I am now planning to have the stones re-set by an expert jeweller into 18ct White Gold which is costing me a hefty price, but I am that fed up and tired that I just want my perfect dream ring and feel by being out of pocket this way is the only way I will ever feel that the ring is perfect and not have to worry about the stone falling out or it falling to pieces. I would however like to add that Sharon the assistant was very nice and understanding and I feel sorry that she was left to face me on every occasion there had been a problem. The shop owner just cowardly hid in his upstairs workshop every time I came into the shop. I feel the only bit of justice is for me to write this review and warn others of this shoddy workmanship and customer service from the owner. The whole experience of getting 'my dream engagement ring' was ruined by this man.
