What a transformation lovely atmosphere very attentive staff, food first class. I had haggis wrapped in chicken and bacon with mashed potatoes and peas. Was cooked perfectly plate hot made food more enjoyable. Dessert was amazing again warm plate, apple pie with custard delicious. Coffee cup was warmed before adding Coffee. Would recommend a visit looking forward to next visit. Vegetarian options: Didn't have vegetarian meal but good choices on menu Kid-friendliness: Excellent service very friendly staff Parking: Lovely village just off A14 kettering Wheelchair accessibility: Door from car park gives access to restaurant and bar Dietary restrictions: Various options on menu's
Still new and finding their feet, so given time I think they will get there. We had the Sunday roast. Our order got muddled so one was wrong, but the owner compensated us for that. The food was well cooked and delicious, plenty of it on the plate too bit too much for me . A small plate option and/or children's option would be good not so wasteful and cheaper for smaller appetites. The knickerbocker Glory was advertised as having fruit, but was just ice-cream, cream and sauce. Very nice, but would have been better if the lack of fruit had been mentioned on ordering. The staff were lovely, the chef was great and over all, I know they will get the Overstone back to it's previous glory.
This is a newly opened pub and the chef is formerly of Bells Kitchen. We have had both a breakfast and a Sunday lunch here and both were excellent. They have only been open a few weeks so are doing very well considering. Vegetarian options: There are several vegetarian options Parking: Plenty of parking to the front and side
my partner & I went for a valentine meal Monday 13th february evening and also for my birthday 14th Phil the chef who we have known for a long time allowed us to use the set val menu on the Monday. Food was lovely , the rack of lamb was cooked to perfection and my partners 12oz ribeye was brilliant. Thanks Phil and his lovely team. See u soon xx Paul & Zoe Parking: Plenty of parking
We went for Sunday lunch and it was fantastic Phil does a fantastic job good person great place an excellent food can’t wait to go again Parking: It’s good to see there’s plenty of room for parking. You don’t feel like you’re squashed or part in someone else’s way. Easy to access and easy to get out
Absolutely brilliant, i was incredibly awkward and they handled it with grace and elegance, lara and liz i cannot thankyou enough. Not all heros wear capes!! Cheers ladies.
A lovely, friendly place with excellent food and service. They looked after our party of ten plus a toddler and nothing was too much trouble. Definitely worth a visit. Kid-friendliness: High chair and appropriate choices from the menu were provided without any fuss at all. Parking: Parking at the back for about 15-20 cars. Wheelchair accessibility: Not brilliant but concrete ramps have been installed from the car park to the restaurant entrance. You'd definitely have to mention the access you need when you book since there are steps to different levels all over this lovely pub and with someone who can't walk at all it could get difficult very quickly. But from the way we were treated I'd be confident about asking for access and help if I did go with someone in a wheelchair.
Was going to message privately but no option unfortunately. 4 of us went for breakfast on a Saturday morning, we were 1 of only 2 tables at this point, when we left there were a further 2 tables. We waited an hour for breakfast. Unfortunately, we found no de- caffeinated tea or coffee, I cannot drink caffeine so ended up with orange juice, not a good start. Scrambled egg was 'grey' and rubbery. Fried bread looked more like toast. My order of granary toast first came as white toast then it came out as granary bread finally it was taken away to be toasted. No marmalade however to go with it. Drinks came an hour before breakfast, not good timing as they had been drank by the time breakfast arrived. The plus things were sausages, bacon ,mushrooms and the potato scone which turned up in the kitchen whilst we were waiting for breakfast. We all felt as though the waiting staff were all wrong, not attentive to detail at all and not sure of anything they were doing, not professional. You do not expect to tell the staff the difference between an English and a Scottish breakfast. It is only just starting up and we understood this but we did feel there were alot of things that hadn't been thought about and in this current climate we don't feel that there is room to be complacent. It would be nice to see matters addressed and the food and atmosphere become fitting for the building they are served in.
Lovely Christmas meal. Good company, good food, attentive service.Food: 5/5
