We stayed in Otters Retreat, for a week, in July 2016, and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Downstairs is open plan with far more space than you might expect, the living area and kitchen are separated by a large dining table, so you never feel constrained. Upstairs there are two spacious bedrooms and en suite bathrooms, both with their own showers. The standard of finish throughout is very high and our hosts were absolutely charming. The dwelling is located on a farm, which was ideal for us as we live on a farm too and enjoy that kind of setting. We loved going for leisurely strolls about the 40 or so acres, our son most of all when he found the tree swing. There's a nearby pub, The Ship Inn, within easy walking distance - ideal for quenching a thirst after a proper day's hike. Macclesfield is only a short 15 - 20 minute drive away, and it's perfect for doing any grocery shopping you might need. If you need a city to visit then Manchester and Liverpool aren't too far away.
