We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Stanley Arms! The room was lovely and the hotel is in an ideal location surrounded by beautiful countryside. The staff were so welcoming and helpful. I highly reccomend this hotel!

After a lovely walk around Fernilee reservoir we popped into The Stanley Arms Hotel for a quick refreshment. The manager was lighting the fire and we soon warmed up with a quick pint, my partner decided she would try the local gin that's distilled just down the road! Quite pricey but good quality and being a hotel you expect to pay a little more any way. There was a menu board in front of us and what was on it was the type of food we absolutely love. Unfortunately we couldn't stay too long caus we had 2 rather large smelly dogs in the back of the van that needed to be taken home. We'd probably pop in for a drink whilst walking in the peaks if we pass it again but I doubt we'd go there on an evening being so far away. Overall this looks a really clean , well run place set in the middle of nowhere, I don't know if it was paranoia due to watching too many horror fims though or maybe a slightly uncomfortable vibe we got from the Gaffer and a few locals that came in that made us feel we were in a scene from an ' American werewolf 'sort of situation, but being so remote out there we didn't take any chances , plus heavy snow was due later that evening so we left hurriedly !! The menu looked damn nice though!!!

Wonderfully cosy and homely.. Helpfully and friendly staff... Good food, reasonably price. Enjoyed a short respite on a foggy journey.. Would love to come back in the summer

You know it as soon as you walk into the place. The lovely warming fire; the smiling welcome; the gleaming bar, and the perfect pint of Pedigree that's just been pulled for you. You think, "I hope it snows, deeply. I want to be held here for a long time". And this is before you enjoy the menu. Delicious and generous dishes, cooked with love and care by your hostess and served by smiling and efficient staff. Then back to a warm and comfortable room. The Stanley Arms is everything you hoped for and will not disappoint.
