Nothing here really but it is a great place to start a walk in the Mourn Mountains, I walked to Slieve Doan and had my lunch with a super view of Silent Valley reservoir and Lough Shannagh

Small car park can only hold about a dozen cars or so. Unless you are there very early, you'll probably have to park on the roadside.

Small car park with easy access to the heart of the Mournes via the Ott track.

As others have said, it can fill up quick with roughly 12 spaces available - there is space to park along the road instead. If you walk up the steps inside the car park and to the left, it's a suitable spot to pee. Just be weary of the sheep :

Best place to start walking in the Mournes

This is a busy cat park. Normally it's full and cars park outside on the road. It could be bigger so if you want to have an space try to arrive not later than 9:30 am.

Handy spot for heading off various directions into The Mournes. Limited spaces, fills up early particularly at weekends. Parking only, no facilities.

Great spot to park and walk up slieve loughshannagh. 30 minutes walk has you feeling like you are in the heart of the mournes. Super views and a great place to walk with kids or those new to the mournes to get a taste of the magnificent scenery. Only down side is the car park is small and if you are not there early at the weekends you wont get a space. Plenty of people do park on the roadside though.

Can be very busy come late morning afternoon. But a fantastic place to begin your walk in the Mournes. As with any walk in mountainous areas, correct clothing and footwear are essential here.  Advise not to leave any valuable in your car as it has been known that cars have been broken into.  But don't let that put you off. It can happen anywhere and the walks are out of this world.
