Stopped here with the kids to have some quiet time, such a beautiful place to just breath and relax.

Nice place near Silent Valley. Spend 10 minutes to enjoy nature.

Great place to park up when walking the western mournes

Nice place to stop been quite a few times and been relaxing and quiet. Although recently with the longer drought than normal the water level has dropped and you can see what is normally are a submerged road and bridge which are visible and able to walk down. Has drawn a lot of attention and has increased the numbers of people visiting here and the carpark at spelga dam

During the summer of 2018 we had the most amazing opportunity to see part of the media and valley that had been submerged in water since the end of world war 2. Because of the good weather the dam started to dry up and parts that would have been covered by 10+ feet of water receded and dried out allowing people the unique opportunity to walk in the valley and meadow something that won’t be seen again in my lifetime. The history of deers meadow and valley is amazing more information can be found online and through tourist information in Newcastle County Down

The side of the lake is extremly mudy and windy  ..but its a really nice place to walk your dog :

Very quiet  with nice view over the spelga damm and Mourne mountains

Got to see the bridge that crosses Spelga Dam due to the lack of rain recently, great spot!

Absolutely stunning place stayed there in my van many times class!!
