I visited when they were doing a special offer on food, so ordered a ridiculous amount for two people, we enjoyed all the dishes we ordered, every chunk of meat was tender and tasty especially loved the ox cheek. On the face of it the restaurant looks very much like Porkys, but the food made it a completely different experience, the menu has far more to inspire your choice, and the flavours are so much better. I will definitely be going back
Came here for the soft launch after a bad experience at the site's former incarnation "Porkys". Things have improved a little; the service is attentive if a little chaotic but the food was relatively good but not outstanding. Star of the show was the buffalo wings: a decent sized portion with a sauce half way between classic buffalo and bbq. The mains I tried were a little uninspired, with the ribs soft and tender but lacking much flavour and the burger being accomplished but perhaps a little overcooked. Sauces on the table were far from inspired. Overall a pretty average experience but at 50% off I was quite happy. Not sure I'd rush to come back, although the ambiance was good and I can imagine this is a good place for a few cocktails the front of the restaurant doubles as a standard bar. Certainly an improvement on Porkys.
Nice decor and relaxed atmosphere, shame some of the beer was a bit overpriced - £5.25 for a 330ml can of Fullers Black Cab Stout is a tad unreasonable.
Good food. Tasty burgers, great alcohol selection friendly staff would happily return
