Enjoyed a spontaneous dinner here on a Thursday evening. Service was prompt, the lady who tended to our table was lovely, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Portions were very good sizes and very good value for money. Kids & adults menu had sufficient choice. I wouldn't say it had much in the way of vegetarian options though and that's why it got 4 stars. We would recommend eating here.
I can't say thank you to guys at The Old School House enough. At short notice we were let down by a nearby bar and was without a venue for my wife's birthday celebrations. John and his team were so accommodating and couldn't do enough for us. The service was amazing and the food and drink of a good quality. There was about 40 of us and all I heard was compliments about the area we had hired and how great the staff were. This place is now my go to pub again in mere green.
Good atmosphere with wide choice of drinks at reasonable prices. Very different concept of an old school.
This is a lovely pub, as the name suggests, it's an old school house and they have kept the theme beautifully, with old school photos, framed old children's prints and posters, "boys" and "girls" loos, and even a real fire in winter, which is a real rarity these days. Service is good, but it's exceptional in the case of the divine Sam, who is such a good-humoured, funny, friendly bloke. He's a real character, he knows what true customer service is about - professional and efficient but with lots of banter, he's a real asset to this place. He was also very tolerant when I told him how handsome he was - I can be such a tease sometimes! Thanks Sam for being you and making The School House special.
Came here again for a Family Bank Holiday lunch for a Family spanning 3 generations. The food was superb and as usual Deb and Jon were the perfect hosts, looking after our every need. We will no doubt be returning here very soon. Can’t recommend enough, thank you so much, Paul, Trisha, Sheila and Chris.
We celebrated our friend's bday. The meal was very tasty and fair priced. We were looked after by Jon, who kept checking on us throughout the whole time, so we gad plenty to drink and eat. Highly recommended.
Fab early evening with friends and our children group of 8. Food was lovely. Special thanks to John our server. He was so welcoming and extremely pleasant. He had a fantastic rappout with all four adults and four children, ages from 4 to 13.
Had a great time. The staff were lovely and the food was really nice. Would definitely recommend and would love to see a great pub get some new decor that it needs.
Enjoyed a family get together to celebrate Grandma's 90th birthday, last Saturday. John was a great host, checking everything and everyone was happy with the food and drinks. Thank you
Great beers Greene king, plus food standard pub grub. Good bar service plus lovely photos on the wall. Good parking outside, good seating inside. It's competing with a wetherspoon nearby, but I prefer the old school house.
